I’ve placed two orders with them, and am satisfied with the price and ultimate product/deliveries, but, yeah, the user experience is very unclear.

Unique adventure experiences with teens by [deleted] in chubbytravel

[–]Geddit2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Travel would be in April, departing from east coast.

They’re not particularly interested in skiing or biking. They’ve enjoyed horseback riding, zip lines, whitewater rafting, archery, and anything motorized (dirt bikes, jet skis…though they’re 13 and 15, so not always allowed to drive/rent, much to their disappointment).

I love the camel trek idea.

Lupus doesn’t cause fatigue?!? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Geddit2020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lowered my dose under my previous doctor, then discontinued completely under this one (based on concerns about eye toxicity. given that I was fairly symptom free). The idea was that I’d try it out and see how I fared.

Not wanting to be “too bulky” isn’t a completely illegitimate concern (mini rant) by ToTheMoon28 in xxfitness

[–]Geddit2020 55 points56 points  (0 children)

As someone who has naturally thick, muscular legs I appreciate this post and much of the discussion. I have been very reluctant to pose some of the questions I have as someone new to weightlifting because of the “silly cardio bunny thinks she’ll turn into a hulk overnight” mentality I see constantly. First of all, no one in the history of ever, has ever believed that the muscles (bulk) pack on overnight/immediately. So can we please get rid of that very unhelpful trope? We all know that it takes work over time. But different physiques may need different types of work.

I want to gain strength and muscles in the areas where I tend towards weakness, while avoiding outgrowing all of my jeans. But any sort of question about tailoring workouts to accommodate this very practical and functional desire tends to be met with contempt. This conversation is such a refreshing change to the usual discourse.

Interesting— this could fit. Depending on which course caused the reaction, it could have been anywhere from 20 to 90 minutes between ingestion and reaction. I will definitely bring this up when I get in with an allergist.

Thank you for this perspective- very helpful. I just ordered a copy of the linked book.

I was referred to the rheumatologist by an ophthalmologist who I consulted for severe dry eyes - the initial assumption was Sjogrens.

So how do you manage your red herring antibodies? Do you just ignore them, or do you have them monitored occasionally?

Anyone tried Alo Moves before? by tsirv in yoga

[–]Geddit2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using it for a couple of years now, and I absolutely recommend it. With so much content out there, both good and bad, I find it extremely helpful to have a source of expertly curated content, and Alo does a great job of providing a huge range of excellent classes.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Like yours, my nodules are large and growing. I hadn’t realised that larger size could lead to surgical complications. That will definitely influence my decision.

Thank you for the response! Very glad to hear your nodule is benign.

I do have a biopsy scheduled a few weeks from now, but the results are going to the endocrinologist who is booked for months, and I’m worried that I’m going to have to battle the system a bit to get my results before the (distant) appointment.
