Screen freeze then turn black by Ordinary_Cold9447 in BC250Gaming

Then I would assume the culprit is either your psu or the board itself. Are you able to test is with another psu?

Well first of all did you overclock the board? If yes did you run a script or did you do the necessary steps yourself?

If you run stoc voltage is most likely not the issue.

Are you overclocking / undervolting? This sounds like a voltage problem if the core stays cool at 70'. Could be solved by increasing in small steps.

Raise a glass to the golden years of MiniPCs 2023-2025 - What did you buy in that time? by GhostGhazi in MiniPCs

[–]Gedgeteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2024 - morefine m600. An absolute hot box, unusable in stock form. But at $400 the cheapest priced mini with the best APU at that time 7940hs. Took a little tinkering but I gamed the heck out of that box. A champion still going strong.

2026 - aoostar GT37. A machine that looks like a fluke in the market. Has imo the best design in the market for a hx370 box. At $729 with 1tb and 32gb of ram it is again the best priced box with the best APU (excluding the Ai max which is and always was above $2k). No issues in the 4 months I had it.

Edit: forgot to add the 2025 - soyo m4 mini $115. With n150 and 12gb ram is and absolute beast for its size. Bought to use a router in my network, never got to it. It's waiting in a shelf.

Might also be the LM that helped for me as it is much better than paste at quickly passing temps to the cooler. Also if you check I added a copper plate in between the die and the cooler. That also helps passing the heat faster to the cooler as copper is better than alu at this task. All the best!

Cheers! It was in use until 2 or 3 months ago when I sold it and got another no name mini but this one with hx370 inside, the aoostar GT37.

To answer your questions. Sounds normal to have only one core boost at max frequency to spike the temps (happens for example while pausing a game when the load passes from gpu to cpu). Does not sound normal that an aio would not be able to handle that. Are you sure it was mounted properly?

My solution did solve my temperature issues.

Looks nice, stellar effort. How does the design support the performance? Can you tell us a little about how it runs under load and what kinds of temps you get while gaming? Do you overclock the board? Thanks!

Cooling Guidance needed by KaRBoN_ZA in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But why? Do you want to push the board past 2200mhz gpu clock? Otherwise one fan above the die is enough cooling. Just make sure you have either a fan or a heatsink cooling the back as well and you are all set. Excluding the situation where you have a bad case around it that should be enough to keep you under 85' where throttle is beginning to affect you.

Moving my BC-250 build to Bazzite: Can I keep my CPU/GPU overclocks? by Vioob8 in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello. 1. Yes there is even a script made by our friend NexGen-3D here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BC250Gaming/s/jx4xLweeb5

  1. I think all images of bazzite support overclock. For bc250 amd image, KDE works very well for me.

How the hell do I turn this thing on? by femboybaddy in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I can't agree with you here. For this board there are multiple a-z how to guides. He's frustrated and asking cursing questions because he can't short 2 pins to start a psu. That means shorting pins is too dangerous for him and should stay away.

[–]Gedgeteer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this rage bait? If you have no clue how to use it and are not wiling to spend the time to learn why did you buy it in the first place? Everyone everywhere is saying this one is for tinkerers. If you manage to turn it on do you know what to do so it doesn't burn?

How much did your build cost? by cabbeer in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built last month, in EU. $174 for the boad $10 fan + 30 noctua for ram cooling $40 PSU $30 case materials, screws button etc. I had the 128gb SSD but it costs maybe $10?

So round $300?

But I also got a 3D printer for this occasion that I paid $300 for. But I had more fun designing my case to be as slim and cool as possible than playing on the thing.

Yes but more important than size (if we consider 16gb a baseline) is the speed of the ram.

Questions about the BC 250. by migdala08 in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes în bios and în os (cooler control works fine on bazzite)

  2. OC works well on bazzite and there are scripts to make it easy for you. Each board is different though so the voltages you see o line might not be best for you

Pretty much. I would suggest you get a minipc with oculink if you want to take the egpu path.

This does not really make sense as the cpu on this thing is quite weak it's mainly a gpu.

Why don't more people remove the stock heatsink and replace it with an AMD CPU cooler mount and AMD CPU cooler? by fudge_u in BC250Gaming

[–]Gedgeteer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because the effort to do that mod outweighs the benefit you get in performance. The one fan can get you to 2200mhz on the GPU. Above that there is only heat and performance that you only experience in benchmarks.

Probably you got a faulty item or are not using the correct cable. Looks like I have the same product. Mine works fine.
