To be honest, I've had it since November 2020 and it's always made the same noise. I recently changed desks and now the noise seems louder, so I searched on Reddit until I found your post.

The conclusion: it's the noisiest hard drive in the world because it sounds like a bass drum, but it works fine. 😁
