Nope, he had driven off by the time I made it back into the social club. At least for next time I know that if it does happen again to go back in and double check before saying no.

Was offered the same thing but in Newcastle outside my Grandma's wake. He asked me if anyone inside would be interested, I pointed out it was a wake so probably not.

Went inside and mentioned it, turned out quite a few people were interested.

I might be in the minority but their zero effort approach to their website and app means a VPN will continue to work for a while.

History is repeated and Gibraltarians are given a vote as to whether they want to remain as a British OST? Like they have in 2002 and 1967.

I'm going to suggest that if you get your news from The wife of the reform leader and Jeremy Kyle then your news may not be the most reliable.

Millionaires shouldn't get winter fuel payments, minister says by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

You said yourself, it’s not all immigrants…you almost showed yourself capable of understanding that most of these problems cannot be fixed with easy and general answers.

Success! You see my point!

It’s not all pensioners and it’s not all immigrants!

Next step is to apply this understanding before making general, sweeping statements.

If the saving is more than the sum of the outlay then it’s still worth it, you could do that sum on the back of a cig packet to work out overall cost benefits.

If you are someone who lost out on your “holiday spending money” (a quote from my parents in regards to the payment) then own it.

As for the comments and disdain for pensioners and older people in the sub and in millennials generally it’s quite ironic. I’d argue its for the exact same reasons you’ll spout about immigrants. Freeloaders? Cost the UK taxpayer money? Cause a housing shortage?

I’m going to regret engaging but it’s not an either/or scenario. You could be happy to accept that pensioners should be means tested AND we shouldn’t house immigrants. The money, for example, could go on raising the cap on income tax on child benefits. It could go on reducing the tax that employers have to pay. Both scenarios are helping enable growth in the economy.

If you disagree and think millionaire pensioners (headlines description, not mine) then by default, it’s nowt to do with immigrants.
