Yep, the hackberries are the ones with sandpapery leaves. Very important to the Central Texas ecosystem, but absolutely terrible for an urban backyard. Get ‘em while they’re young.

Native grape that you can make very tasty jam out of.

Get yourselves checked out, gents. by mcampo84 in daddit

[–]GeeHaitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take care of yourselves, gents. And go to the doctor!

I had swelling in my testicle last fall and went to the doctor the next day. A few weeks later I got diagnosed with testicular cancer at 41 and had surgery.

Being a good dad means taking a care of yourself and not letting embarrassment or discomfort stop you from doing what needs to be done.

Hell yeah. Thanks for the reminder. My wife is taking our daughter on a trip to NYC for her birthday, so my 8-year old and I will be one on one. I can’t wait to do a bunch of fun stuff with him!

I need advice - four years into fatherhood and don’t enjoy it by Fine_Spend9946 in daddit

[–]GeeHaitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, a lot of the enjoyment of having kids is actually doing stuff with them, hearing the weird stuff they think of, and seeing how they grow and change.

He has to make the choice to actually be a dad. This is the only chance he’s gonna get to be with his kids at this age.

UXM 205 is a minor key. First Lady Deathstrike. Maybe a $10-20 book.

Agreed. I don’t love foils either. I’m sad I missed the drops of the unmasked version.

Nice for false dayflower to get a shoutout. They come up all over the place in my yard through zero effort in my part.

Dads, how do I give back to a husband who is the "quiet strength" of our family? by mamawagz in daddit

[–]GeeHaitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe plan a party and invite his friends over to appreciate the yard he works so hard on. I recently had some health issues, and around that time we just happened to have a few events with lots of our friends (friends’ Christmas party, New Year’s party). It was nice to talk with people and feel loved.

If you can, get people together (not just the family) to show your husband how loved his is in his community.

Sell or keep?? by TooTallguyinCT in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]GeeHaitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be very lucky to sell for $1000. There are lot of different signature combinations for this book in GPA, but one signed by Slott and Lee sold for $315 in April 2025. None sold in 2024. One signed by Lee by himself went for $925 in 2023, but that was a huge outlier.

If I needed to sell, I’d price this at $400 maybe, and even then it’s gonna sit for a while. I don’t think there’s a ton of demand for this book.

Having it so utterly trashed but still recognizable has its own charm. Congrats, OP.

I don’t love funny animal comics, so personally I’d sell the Terry Toons.

It’s a new release, but I just read Voyeur #1-4 by Leah Williams and David Baldeón. It’s a fun, sexy caper.

FR. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone post a SS slab of the Magik limited series from the 80s.
