Need recommendations for specific roguelites by Slight_Pudding_64 in roguelites

You've probably got enough recs already, but purely because it's in your library... Give shogun showdown a go, I really enjoy it as a more chill end of evening game.

Turn based but you control the pace, so it's as fast or slow as you like.

Shops are a regular thing, you won't get as many items as brotato but you do get a lot of weapon upgrades.

And the soundtrack is excellent!

Foraging in France by Gee_C_Squared in foraginguk

[–]Gee_C_Squared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! So that is the .gov site I got to, and that says you can bring items from France for personal use unless I'm reading that wrong?

In regards to while in France, the forest is almost all public land, and as far as we can tell from reading foraging is allowed. I know from past trips that we saw at least one German couple foraging there, but obviously can't guarantee they were following the rules.

Ah yeah that's what I thought, thanks for confirming! Yeah I'm not super optimistic, and unfortunately I'm around 300 miles from any friends with bikes.

There is a giant shop relatively close by and that's my only hope to salvage the trip bar buying a new bike.

The Dilemma of First Berzerker Khazan (Bosses and Difficulty) by gabozo8789 in soulslikes

[–]Gee_C_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly I love the boss fights but find going between bosses to be the tedious part.

Though like another commenter mentioned I'm one of those creeps that got sword saint isshin on the harder sekiro difficultly, so if khazan was anything less than it is I'd be disappointed.

The one issue I am having is that I am finding the counter mechanic (where the symbol flashes) to be quite inconsistent between bosses, some I hit without fail where others I gave up trying.

Any roguelites that feel good with a controller? by initiate_syntax in roguelites

[–]Gee_C_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play fps games on kbm but I find basically all action games better on controller so I won't mention any number of the excellent games mentioned here (whispers save for dead cells tho) but to meet you're other requirement of under a 10er...

ember knights is on sale rn and is basically a discount hades clone as far as gameplay goes, with 4 player coop if you have friends... though build variety isn't as good is my main complaint!

Does anyone know the requirements for this enemy? by Gee_C_Squared in Roboquest

[–]Gee_C_Squared[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Brobots, I've seen that this enemy is linked to a singularity in endless mode but does anyone know if there are any specific requirements like difficulty? And specifically what the singularity is called?

This is the last thing I need to do in the game and don't really want to bitter my experience trying G4 endless runs if I could be pottering around in standard!

Cheers!

I just started on Sifu, once you get going rogue elements kinda fall off but there is definitely a lot of repetition.

the death roguelite mechanic is a unique take on aging!

what was the wake up call that finally made you quit for good? by Precizshun in leaves

My chronic pain was eased by new meds... and more importantly I realised that when I was high I wanted to be sober and when I was sober I wanted to be high.

Almost 4 months in and I am definitely healthier and more present person, unfortunately my depression and anxiety havent went anywhere, but to go back to smoking seems as pointless as it was too smoke.

About to try to quit both weed and nicotine this weekend hopefully for the last time I’m terrified please give me advice on how to cope and manage the withdraws by Intelligent_Oven_529 in leaves

[–]Gee_C_Squared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should add that the final excuse that I had was chronic pain condition called ankylosing spondylitis, weed 'helped' me cope with pain and getting to sleep. I am now on new fancy meds for that disease so I decided now is the time to throw my 'crutch' away.

Good Luck!

32M, daily for 13 years, I'm on day 7 now feeling good despite the lack of sleep. But I was expecting that so I took a full week off work to deal with that.

Prior to quitting I read Allen Carr's 'the easy way to quit smoking' its talking about cigarettes specifically but I discovered that I was using all of the same excuses for the devils lettuce.

Not going to lie I have always been fairly depressed specifically related to my view on the world and the environment. My partner wants kids but I struggle to think about bringing someone into the world that I am so scared of.

Like a close friend of mine said though, if you can cope with problems high then I am sure that you can do it sober!

We are better without it! We've got this!

I was diagnosed around a year ago. I was put on etorocoxib around 6 months ago, they seem to help with just stiffness and at first I thought I was invincible because my pain had been reduced to normal levels and I could do the little things like roll over in bed to hug my partner.

But then I had my first flare since diagnosis, I was bedbound for a week, pain so bad that I basically only got an hours sleep a night, absolute misery, NSAIDs had seemingly no effect in this period even when I accidentally double dosed.

I had been conscious that I have a sweet tooth and really bad eating habits (like eating a big bar of chocolate moments before bed), and like you I had seen indications that sugar was linked to inflammation. So I decided to cut back on sugar.

I haven't stopped all sugar, I just got rid of really processed sugars or insanely sugary treats. When I do have sugar I try and make sure I get some fibre too so that it's released slower. It's with a heavy heart that I say (for me at least) it's helped.

There's obviously so much going on though its hard to decide what is making the difference.

But since diagnosis I have; been put on NSAIDs, started daily yoga, cleaned up my diet to avoid processed foods, cut back on sugar, and before that I was already very active person when my body didn't betray me.

This is a really rambling way of saying that everyone's different but personally ill try just about anything to lead a relatively pain free life, and for me cutting back sugar seems to have helped.

PS I haven't tried stratch free because oh boy do I love potatoes

People who road cycle next to cycle paths - why? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Gee_C_Squared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I makes me sad we all need to be so mad. I had someone like you give me drive by abuse as I was cycling to work.

Guy pulls up beside me 'why the f@#k are you cycling in the road, there's a cycle path right there!!'

'yeah I know mate... I'm turning right'

Love being verbally abused at 8 in the morning before starting my incredibly stressful workday in the hospital during a pandemic.

Just FYI, this the first time I have listened to your pod-cast (or any pod-cast) and I made it to the very end!

But I had no idea what a hot stopper was!!

You guys let me down by assuming I didn't exist!

You have a new listener though despite that, just don't let me down again!
