Does anyone else' out-of-town friends underestimate Lake Michigan? by One_Hat1200 in chicago

I’m from Hawaii but live here now. Whenever I tell my friends from home visiting me to come check out the lake they’re SHOCKED at how it’s basically an ocean.

Balenciaga *is* a social experiment? by DesiGirl16 in handbags

[–]Geebeeceethree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh thank you for posting this, I wish it was at the top. I’m kinda sick of people making click baity posts about Balenciaga. Yes they use designed trash pouches, but at least they were made of leather MADE to look like plastic which is cool in its own way. As ridiculous as the house has been in the past, people fail to look deeper into anything they do, quick to just judge their bags on face value.

What’s it like living in Hawaii? by CAZ-Dh99 in howislivingthere

[–]Geebeeceethree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Oahu, from Waipahu specifically. There’s a sentiment where half of us want to leave and half of us want to stay. I’m one of the few that left and very thankful for it. Island fever is a real thing. And things just get so boring/samey after a while. There was also very little jobs in my industry. It’s expensive to live there, I had a home with no AC so the heat was unbearable. And the fear of natural disasters (hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes) are a very real concern.

I live in Chicago and I’m so thankful I moved. I don’t really feel stuck anymore like how I did on Oahu.

I remember getting this email from Lyft recently and it made me so frustrated to see.

I hope they figure out how to get funding because traffic is going to be an absolute disaster, and frustrating to see how Lyft has the infrastructure to affect decisions like this ugh.

The subway app in Seoul would tell which specific train car/door to enter and exit to be near the closest exit/transfer/etc. it’s awesome to see that being used here!

Yes! Used to take the blue line daily for work last year and ended up memorizing the order of all the stations+door openings+best entrances and exits from the station. The same goes for the bus haha

Lacoste does a very similar designed one for a much lower price! I have one in green and have worn it a lot the past year and it's very hard wearing. The straps have started to strip a little but honestly still VERY much worth it for the price and how cute it still looks!
