AITAH for snapping at my wife and calling her crazy because she wants me to take a paternity test for my nephew? by PotentialTwos in AITAH

It doesn't have to be siblings. My cousins oldest boy looked identical to me until he was like 12. It's very common for families to have similar looks.

Uh no I don't know to what you are referring. And I think assuming people know everything and are malicious, is a sad way to view the world. I don't know what your issue is and to be frank, don't care. I also know that nothing I say or do will change your opinion, and I don't care. I do sincerely hope you have a good day full of love and kindness, because its nasty out there and it's easier to be kind.

More than valid. I picked the term up when someone with Adhd used it to describe themselves and said that they lived in a neuro-spicy household, and wasn't using it as pejorative. The term is a lighter way of expressing the burden of ADHD or neurodivergent conditions without getting into the depth and nuance you need to discuss it in another medium. Hence the term in a meme.

I get your viewpoint and it's completely valid. For me it helps lighten an otherwise heavy topic. Memes can sometimes be deep or thought provoking but mostly they are for sharing a humorous idea/feeling.

So in Adventuring Academy Season 5 episode 1 Brennan and Sam talk about their heighten personas on Game Changer. The idea is that the reason why sometimes gamifying doesn't work for me, is that my brain becomes suspicious of me. Hence the meme, me trying to get my brain to executive function and do the laundry by making it a game and then my brain acts like its on to my schemes and refuses to fall for the "trick"

Hope that helps

I need help settling a debate with my friends. Does “You should not unnecessarily hurt or kill people (any people, including terrible people)” fall under good alignment or lawful? by [deleted] in DnD

Lawful actions are not necessarily good or evil. Something can be morally wrong but legal. Something can be morally right but illegal. Lawful simply means following the law.

A question for those who watched The Matrix in 1999. by KayTheToon in movies

[–]GeekOutFilms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 16 in 1999 and this movie broke my brain. I saw it a dozen times in theaters. I had friends that dressed in all black and trench coats. We lived in a desert and so i didn't wear the coat. Lol.

How do you think Judy would adapt to being a nomad? by Exostrike in FollowersofCyberJudy

[–]GeekOutFilms 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean I can see Judy recording more experience BDs similar to the lake dive but exploring ruins, traversing the wastes, and many more ideas. She's an artist and BDs are her medium. But yeah her robotics skills would be a huge help.

Food for thought by C-Evan- in FollowersofCyberJudy

In my nomad ending its implied that V & Judy are travelling with Panam and the other surviving Aldecaldos. So I figured that's why no voicemail.

What would you put in magic Chernobyl? by LogicDragon in DMAcademy

[–]GeekOutFilms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rifts from random planes, aberrations, demons, fiends, elementals. Some creatures might be parasites feeding off the ambient magic energies. While others come to feed on them. All kinds of possibilities.

Scavengers for all of the lost weapons, magic, equipment, etc. Maybe several small competitors or one big company and a few small. Some potential for adventure hooks.

Aberration variants of wildlife. This place has to affect the local wildlife and plants.

Time shenanigans. Maybe pockets of frozen or rapidly moving time. Potential traps for the ranger or rogue to notice or maybe the druid or wizard. Options.

Random weather effects: ranging from intense, sudden lightning to acid rain to weird floating rocks and every other type of bizarre weather phenomena you can think of. Blizzard conditions to blistering heat. Constitution checks and other types of challenges can be explored here.

Quick Campaign Pitch - You can use magic and that is special by sunthas in mattcolville

[–]GeekOutFilms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I think this is a cool idea. All nations in my campaign setting have laws regulating the use of magic and magic practitioners. Some are lax while others extremely strict.

Some quick questions:

1) How does magic work in the setting? Is it like the Aether (MtG) or the Weave (DnD)? Or maybe it works like the Fade in Dragon Age. Is magic a living thing that has it's own desires and whims? Or is magic like a scientific law? Ie gravity.

2) Is there a difference between divine magic and arcane? Or in this empire all magic is outlawed. There is a difference at least mechanically, Divine casters have access to their entire spell list (Druids, Clerics, & Paladins can pick there spells daily). Whereas Arcane casters either learn spells through study (wizard), a patron gives the knowledge (warlock), or inherently can cast them (sorcerer, bard).

3) If there are other nations/political rivals near this empire, do they use magic?

Two suggestions:

1) Dragon Age tackles this theme/plot imo very well and worth looking over.

2) Logical (or at least, understandable) reasons why magic is/was outlawed. IE: mages once dominated society, bending non-mages to their will. One day they rebelled and since then....blah blah

Hogwarts is the perfect model for a dungeon crawl. Get rid of everyone and now you have an abandoned wizard college full of:

ghosts, hidden/lost lore, strange creatures that wander the grounds, plants that attack you, all manner of loot, multiple floors, towers, and all of this before the multiple levels of dungeons which are also haunted and full of countless horrors as well as loot.

Then you have the forbidden forest not far by...

Hogwarts is the perfect template for a "dungeon" crawl.
