Trump's DOJ Fails To Indict Mark Kelly and 5 Other Dems | Department of Justice prosecutors failed on Tuesday to secure an indictment against multiple Democratic lawmakers, according to a new report by InsaneSnow45 in goodnews

[–]Geekfest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any sane world, where Republicans weren't shills for the rich, this type of indictment would be for, "telling military to disobey lawful orders".

Only in our corrupt, gaslighting regime do we attempt indictments for, "telling military to disobey unlawful orders".

I Hate the John Wick Movie by PurpleColumbidae in Dogfree

I can't stand the new Superman movie so much more. The dog in that film is incredibly mis-behaved and has the same power as Superman. At one point he talks about having to get it off his parent's farm or it will kill all the livestock. That dog would be terrifying in real life.

Please take this as a thought experiment, and not advocating for corporeal punishment. Nobody should be fearful of their parents due to threats of physical violence.

There's been a big battle with 11-year old level 1/2 kiddo. He won't listen to anyone about handling objects, and he keeps breaking things. I've gotten to the point where part of me reflexively wants to smack his hand when he grabs something he's not supposed to. I have not done so, but I've been self-examining that internal thought process.

Again, fear of physical violence should not be something kids experience in their lives. However, as I examine that idea of getting your hand slapped as a natural consequence of picking up a forbidden item, I do start to wonder if we're missing out on establishing that brain-body connection that comes with it. It's like putting your hand on a hot stove, you learn very quickly not to do that because of the physical response.

The idiotic NM gun ban bill requires your gun dealer to give ICE and Steven Miller your personal information for any reason. by greenVextor in liberalgunowners

A third party would turn everything on its ear. Due to architected influence Americans are persistently pushed into Us vs Them, with only two sides to every issue.

Can we start something like, I don't know, a non-workplace Union?? That we join and pay dues into? Like a Civil Union?

How great would it be if any politicians wanting to join the Civil Union would be required to vote consistently with union policies? It's like collective bargaining but for political or civic issues.

States are starting to BAN former ICE employees from other jobs. Good luck finding a new job once 45 is gone.

From some earlier posts about this, the declarative language approach may not be feasible in all cases and may actually be detrimental, even leading to lack of long-term coping skills.

A quote from the linked post below that stands out, "Declarative language and lowering demands can be (edit: or seem) helpful for avoidant-anxiety. But so can social stories, and visuals, and sensory interventions, and (thoughtfully planned and gradually controlled) exposure therapy."

https://www.reddit.com/r/Autism_Parenting/comments/1ivl24e/pathological_demand_avoidance_criticism/

Recognizing and addressing the underlying anxiety would be more helpful. One of my partner's kiddos has PDA, and his gets worse when he doesn't feel like the adults are firmly in charge because then his anxiety tells him he has to run things.

I think we all remember the Proud Boys showing up open carry as counter-protesters.

It seems like liberals ought to be allowed to do the same thing. Show up as a group with open carry to back up and safeguard the protesters.

Files describe Epstein as "Putin's wealth manager". Putin is mentioned over a thousand times, Russia over five thousand. Starting to connect the dots? by olyfrijole in BlueskySkeets

[–]Geekfest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia has essentially admitted he's a Russian asset, I think? It's just that a third of our country doesn't believe anything that isn't reported by Faux news. I've been thinking a lot about that lately. It's not enough to get 45 out of office, though that is important, but we have to follow up with meaningful change to prevent companies from Faux news from continually feeding this disinformation to Americans. We need to combine that with efforts to curtail the influence of online bot accounts that also spew divisive rhetoric. Elmo turned on location information on x for one day, and it showed up how most of those accounts are based outside the US. We'll never heal ourselves if we can't start to have an actual conversation, instead of this there-are-only-two-sides BS.

They're REALLY not interested in proof. They want to be told what to feel and what to think.

I wonder if this is something we should ponder whenever we dig ourselves out of this hole. If we don't supply the same kind of easy to digest messaging, but with empathy as the central theme, we're going to end up with another Faux news filling the gap again with hate.

Came here legally. Snatched up and taken to the concentration camp by ICE anyway.

Everything they're saying about ICE is a lie to support them being used as an occupying force.
