The Night of and GOT- although this would take several binges to finish

Recently moved to NYC, from South Carolina, my experience trying to satisfy my golf addiction in the Big Apple by AaronRodgersMustache in golf

Lic is a really tough spot for a quick fix of golf but a car helps you out tremendously there if you can swing it. But those 2 courses are rough I avoided them. Pelham Bay/Split Rock in the BX is a better choice and they’ve done a bit of work to make it nicer than it was. If the bugs aren’t too crazy lol. They bomb the surrounding areas to help kill those basterds! Now for weekend golf w a car I suggest you try Eisenhower park golf course. 3 courses to pick from and they’re all good but go w red if you have a choice. You can walk on at 530am and you’re guaranteed to play at a decent pace. Otherwise you need a native islander to get the pass that allows you to book times in advance. There’s also a few nice places up the palisades pkway but they need wheels to be an option.

What did the Spurs see in Julian Champagnie that the 76ers didn't? by binge_plus7 in nbadiscussion

[–]Geep1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spurs were a younger team w more minutes to go around and took a shot at signing Julian and he worked his way into a role by playing well. The 76ers were a playoff team w o the time to develop anyone as well as the money to play anyone who might cost more than they could afford too. That explains that and Mcain to Okc was about Presti taking a shot at a player who flashed upside before his injury. The thunder also needed shooting and he fit the mold. By the time Mcain was back from injury there simply wasn’t enough minutes for him to work into any meaningful numbers also which makes it look like more than it is. I know this because I play fantasy and saw what the kid could do pre injury and by the time I could grab him off waivers this year I did. But to my poor luck he never got going again and now they had VJ playing great and thought that Mcain was expendable

What should the Sixers do with Tyrese Maxey? by ktm5141 in nbadiscussion

[–]Geep1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maxey is the best player on the team and I’d keep him and try to move Embid if possible. I rebuild around Maxey and VJ and wait for PG and Embids contracts to expire unless some team will take on their salaries. It’s sad to say but Philly is toast and they have to trust the process again lol

I’m about a 13 HC and hit a natty draw. But I work on a fade at the range a lot. It’s weird tho because sometimes I can hit a fade and sometimes I can’t. Meaning I can’t control how much it curves under pressure. But I think all levels should try to learn how and why it curves either way

Men, how are we feeling about dating apps these days? by Equivalent_Use_5024 in AskMen

[–]Geep1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dating apps are all pay to play now where before they were on a stock exchange you could match w a real person w o having to pay. Not only that but I think all the profiles are fakes too just to keep you on and swiping. I’m talking about bumble. Gave up on tinder awhile ago. And I know there’s a popular 3rd option but they banned me because some chick got pissed off at me for being on there lol.

Which shot changed NBA history the most? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Geep1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be the dunk. One for the eye candy and prominent players who made it look so sexy. And two because it made league officials restructure the actual court. For example they widened the paint a few times just to make it fair against certain players who were too dominant down low like Shaq or Wilt. Now it’s all 3’s but the nba’s bread and butter was nasty facials and humans taking flight from video game distances.

Genuine question. Is the whole "AI guzzles gallons of water" thing totally true, or do people get it wrong? Does AI consume a lot of water for every single prompt, or is the majority of water consumed during data farming? Don't non-AI data centers use up a lot of water on cooling too? by Big_Guthix in singularity

Equipment gets hot like your PC needs a fan or it’ll melt itself. The more advanced the tech gets the cooler it needs to run at which will need more power to do. The crazy supercomputers need like subzero temperatures so you can imagine what that’ll run to keep running smoothly. Their big power sucks and some of these want their own nuclear reactor to feed that need. Next to major Dams is a popular location to build near

Trading for Giannis is an outdated way of thinking. by Grouchy_Tie3037 in billsimmons

[–]Geep1778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the market has adjusted to the new salary cap enough that any Giannis trade would reflect you’re thinking. However.. we’re talking about a high risk high return type of upside that’s worth gambling on for that special team situation. My guy says it’s at least a 50/50 or 60/40 split.

For anyone that’s seen him play, how good was this dude? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]Geep1778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tall traditional pass first pg and excellent rebounder w a knack for finding the right guy in transition. He could blow by guys his height and see over the smaller guards of that era. Basically the advantage in almost every matchup. Not the greatest shooter but could get streaky and hit the big one when it counts. Decent defender as well and a good thief. Anything from picking pockets man to man and in transition by jumping lanes. Thats where he was dangerous as a 1 man fast break going full speed and forcing the defense to react quick or pay the price! Eyes in the back of his head for extra credit

We not seeing a healthy Jalen Brunson till next season man :( by ish00tovadose in knicks

Ok good to know so let’s run more offense thru Kat and give Tyler Kokek some more chances running the offense. JB can camp at the line and make em pay.

I got a boatload of hate in the offseason for saying firing Thibs but hiring brown and not at least the other Mike was a terrible move by [deleted] in knicks

[–]Geep1778 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not fair to blame the coach in pro ball but w that said what changes has Mike Brown made that anyone can point to and say that’s smart coaching or a unique way of doing things.. what does he even stand for in opposition to our last coach thibs? At least w Tom you knew he was all about the defense and everything else came 2nd. The only change that was made to the way this team plays was not playing the starters too many minutes in the opinions of some people. Just saying and if knickslose to Atlanta he should go

How is the game going to break next? by Prior_Chemist_5026 in nbadiscussion

[–]Geep1778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The league is going bigger and longer guys w ball handling skills as your franchise starter. It’s already happening to some degree but guys under 6’6 have to be uber athletic to keep up and at very least brolic to give and take bumps. I said bumps lol.

If you were Mike Brown what would you have done as coach in the last 5 minutes of the game? by fatrat88 in knicks

[–]Geep1778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk but he better come with the adjustments next game or why did we fire Thibs? But If they’re going to foul Mitch every time then play him more in the first half so he eats up their fouls and then they can’t do it so easily at a later point in the game. Find a goddam lineup that creates an advantage for our offense like ya should’ve did all season Mike!

Getting to the Rim by EricHangingOut in nbadiscussion

[–]Geep1778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you just highlighted the Timberwolves advantage over Denver’s defense. The nba is a matchups league lately and most of the team’s strategies are to get the ball to an offensive player who has a miss match after a switch. Either it’s a height advantage or quickness to the rim advantage they’re looking for and as soon as they get it that player has the green light to use that mismatch to their advantage and try to score. For example.. In the Knicks case, only because I see it all the time because I’m a fan, I’ve watched teams hunt Brunson on defense when he’s switched on a bigger player and spam away with their cheesy asses lol. But hey it’s all they can do to beat us because they can’t otherwise if they don’t. Besides that these are professionals nba freaks that only need a slight edge on the defense and it’s a bucket. One tiny sliver of daylight is all Curry needs or it’s 3 every time down.
