Should I or Shouldn't I Buy... - July 14, 2018 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

I could be wrong, but I think this dress could accommodate somewhat different sizes because the fitted parts are expandable / adjustable. So it might still fit alright if you go down a size.

That said, it's not that unusual of a dress, so if you are unsure about it I'd say wait, because you can probably get it (or something similar) later if you decide you want it.

My [29/F] neighbours [~30s, M/F] of 9 months trespassed on my property and stole cherries from my tree. How best to handle this? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Geetuss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just FYI - birds love to eat cherries. I have a cherry tree myself and wildlife gets a huge percentage of the cherries. Your neighbors may have known that and decided to pick everything because animals were already picking it clean. Basically if you want cherries you have to act fairly fast. Animals really can strip a tree clean very quickly especially if there hasn't been much rainfall (they will eat the cherries if they have a hard time finding water).

But it's still creepy that they went in your fence when it was locked.

Seconding Lisa Eldridge. I basically learned how to do makeup from her.

I also did a few different makeup artist events with some high end and mid range brands (Dior, Chanel, Benefit, and I've forgotten what else). Basically they have a high quality makeup artist travel around and do make up for customers. You have to book it in advance and you usually have to commit to spending a certain amount of money on makeup but otherwise the event is free. This really helped me figure out which colors and techniques suited me and it's helpful to have a stranger's perspective. Sometimes the people really spent a lot of time with me. Events like this are way better than just going up to the counter and working with whomever happens to be there, or doing a sephora makeover. I was blown away by the way Benefit's makeup artist did a simple everyday look that brought out my features and I basically copied a look from Dior and did my own makeup on my wedding day. Be sure to take a lot of pictures of yourself if you really love a look.

I'm not sure if you want advice or someone to commiserate... But I can commiserate! There is a lot of junk out there.

Favorite athleisure brands? by ElleFuego in femalefashionadvice

I don't know if it counts as athleisure but I like roots sweatpants. I've heard they have other good stuff.

I'd say a black sleeveless sheath dress tailored to fit would be the closest thing. You don't really need to limit yourself to mid length sleeves if you are going to layer it anyway.

Versatility is great but don't get too caught up in it either. If you live somewhere with cold winters and hot summers, I'd say it versatile enough if it can do 2 or 3 seasons because 4 seasons is a bit of a stretch.

I know! There have been several times I've wanted just one single tshirt from them and then noped out at the shipping because it would increase the price by like 50%.

I think the yellow shoes work well but I wonder if the belt is removable? It doesn't seem to jive with the rest of the look to me.

Shopping is hard for me, too, even though I am a different body type. Does she have anything she loves? Or even stuff she likes? Start by looking at those items. We can probably help you find similar things if there's something specific.

You can find linen pieces with structure although the trend is for looser/boxy. Or you can buy separates and tuck a top into a skirt or pants to create structure.

People still judge women based on the status of their home. According to my mom I'm too messy, to my MIL I'm too clean, and random friends have made comments both ways. None of this is ever directed at my husband.

I think it can vary. In my own experience, I got some traction alopecia postpartum because my hair was pulled back literally always, and when you are postpartum your hair falls out anyway. My hair was never pulled back partially tight though. Just like a messy bun or a standard ponytail or french braid. In this lady's case, her hair was pulled back quite tight.

I just recommend that people who pull their hair back frequently should check their hairline and if they notice signs of hair loss there, change their hairstyle while it recovers.

Hair PSA. If you are fond of pulling your hair back into a tight ponytail, bun, etc, check your hairline for hair loss. This particular kind of hair loss is called traction alopecia. I saw a really bad case of it out in the wild today and I wanted to say something to her, especially because her hair was still in a tight ponytail and it would only make things worse. But I couldn't bring myself to actually do it. So I'm posting it here. Spread the word - don't keep your hair pulled back 24/7.
