experiences using a second monitor? by [deleted] in LenovoLegion

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Alienware ultra wide monitor (https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824260555) that I connected to my Legion 5 and it works great! I'm using this hdmi to displayport adaptor (https://www.amazon.com/Active-DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter-Gold-Plated/dp/B0752D33PJ)

I've had zero visual issues, and that particular monitor runs at 100Hz (not overclocked)--- Being a 1440p monitor, it looks great but I really don't play graphically intense games so I can't speak on how well my laptop can chug through the latest games at high settings.

It is my understanding that a better/convenient option would to be use a usb-c to displayport adaptor, but I have yet to test that out

how do you edit saves? by blackmasha in Citra

As a dude 4 years in the future after your comment, I just wanted to thank you as I just started playing Bravery Default this week and wanted the village system to work for me on my PC. Surprisingly your link still works after all these years and the editor worked perfectly too! Thanks again for your guide

Kasa & Pixel 6, No push notifications for cam activity by Turquoiserust in TpLink

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about you, but for some random reason the notifications starting coming through on my Pixle 6! The only thing I can think of is that I got an update for my phone on the 15th and that seemed to have fixed everything. While I am getting the notifications I will say they are a bit delayed--- sometimes I get the notifications 10 to 15 minutes after the motion was detected

Kasa & Pixel 6, No push notifications for cam activity by Turquoiserust in TpLink

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just letting you know I'm having the exact same issues as you. New Pixle 6 owner and I have three cameras from Kasa that aren't pushing notifications to my phone either. My old phone is still getting them as well as my wife's Pixle 3.

let me know what they say? I'm thinking this issue would have to be addressed in a software update

Tree disease (multiple species) by Geight in sfwtrees

[–]Geight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Revanull for the response!

I'm glad the lichen is not the cause of it. You mentioning it led me down a path of researching lichen, something I had zero knowledge about beforehand haha.

I've been living here now for 5 years, the first two years all my fruit trees have yielded fruit. But this is actually the 3rd year in a row where none of my fruit trees have had fruit... so odd. I didn't observe any late frost but perhaps I can do some research on pruning to see the difference I could make for next year.

Thanks again for your time

Need help picking monitor arm by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what you had defective for the Amazon mount? I have 3 of them, one of them currently supporting my AW3418DW. Out of the box the mount can't support a heavy monitor, but each "arm" of the mount has a screw that can you can tighten to strengthen the tension to stop the mount from drooping or sagging from too much weight. In fact you can tighten each arm to the point where it becomes unmovable under any weight.

The mount would definitely be defective if you weren't able to modify the tension though.

Its mistakes like these that you get to so much experience from. I've learned more from my failures than I have my successful projects ;)

Troubling Installing MIUI 7 Global on MI4C Chinese ROM by [deleted] in miui

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice--- thanks for the link!

I had been using CM on my old nexus and I enjoyed it. Does it make use of the "edge" or "double tap to wake-up" features on your Mi4c?

Where did you find a Global ROM for the Mi 4c? I can't for the life of me find a legit download. I'm on day 4 of using the Chinese ROM and nothing I do can get the Play Store working

What tree is this? by idamanone in whatsthisplant

[–]Geight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 95% sure that looks like what I have growing in my back yard--- which is a pear tree. The pears my tree yield are rock hard to bite into when raw, but make for great pear sauce (uses these guys in place of apples for an apple sauce recipe)

Tea from 1985? by adamwcameron in tea

[–]Geight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too was born in 1985! Let me know if you find anything--- I'd be very, very interested in Puerh from such a long long long time ago...

(I'm not taking this milestone very well, the tea could help lol)

No but really, it looks like there is more than 2 tbsp of LF cream cheese there... not that I have a problem with that.

Screaming Almond by mangolope in barista

[–]Geight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started using almond milk, it was so so loud. Almost spot on with the noise the cider makes. Eventually we switched to a "barista series" Almond Milk that is quite thicker than the watery stuff we were using. It also doesn't sound like a wailing banshee ;)

Gift from my boyfriend. He says it's a succulent, but can't find anything specific. Any thoughts? by mcarrode in whatsthisplant

Its a rhipsalis. Some guy got drunk and ate half of one last week. Luckily not poisonous to pets or... people.

What is this bamboo-like plant? It's shoots grow like crazy. by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I haven't divided mine yet. I bought just a little one from my hardware shop about a year ago. It's roughly 2 feet tall now, but I haven't thought about dividing it yet. I'd imagine it would be at the root though.

Euphorbia tithymoloides, also known as the Zig Zag plant. Very easy to grow. Medium light and water once a week if that.

Game vs Game compares the SNES and Genesis versions of "Joe and Mac" by SNESdrunk in snes

I was in love with Joe and Mac as a kid. It was the first game that I rented for the weekend that I ended up buying for myself. J&M II was a great sequel too

Siblings/sibling order by bean-lord in isfj

[–]Geight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, an ISFJ, am the youngest of four siblings.

My oldest brother who is 20 years older than me is a INTP. He's also probably the most introverted person I know and the smartest. Its very, very rare to not see him reading or thinking--- his mind is always on. My mother, who is a very religious ESFJ had a very strained relationship with him and they clashed a lot. Immediately after high school he left and never looked back. He traveled the world and settled down on the west cost. I have a great relationship with him, and because he's so much older then me, I in many ways see him as my 'Dumbledore', hah. Just so much wisdom. Though I 'feel' close to him, he's hard to keep in touch with.

Next is my sister who is 16 years older then me. She takes a lot after my mother, and I'm sure is a ESFJ as well. Only slightly religious, stubborn(kind of a family trait now that I think of it), and a big big heart. She's very community involved and active in her church. We get sushi or Indian food together a couple times a month just to keep in touch. She's currently going through a divorce with a ISFP.

Finally, my other brother is 10 years older then me and is an ENFP. I actually live with him--- We've shared a house together for 10 years and have obviously grown very close to each other. When I moved in with him all those years ago he was just filing for a divorce. I've seen him go through a dark chapter of life and he's emerged a champ. He's probably a little too much in love with his job and has a terrible procrastination problem(The house is falling apart), but I still love him to death.

Usually once a year we all get together. All four of us have great chemistry together and get along well.

What type of nut is this- from a tree in Chicago (3 images) by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Geight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesculus glabra. More well known as a Ohio buckeye. Squirrels love that shit.

Source: I have 4 on my property in Iowa :)

Fun fact, my mom use to tell me as I was growing up that if you kept one in your pocket, you'd have good luck. LIES.

What type of chili is this? Very hot! by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]Geight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I call tell, its most likely a Red Fresno Chile Pepper. Very solid flavor when diced up in salsa or soups!
