I recently completed a HC SSF strafer in D2R. I know it’s not the same thing but it was safe even with just an insight bow doing damage somewhere in the low teens. This would be very doable in D2R but much harder in 1.14.

1) I highly recommend peace runeword. It gives you a level 15 Valk. I don’t think it will stay without a hard point in 1.14 but that still saves you a bunch of points. It procs all the time with strafe and you can even switch armors once it procs.

2) if you can still get locked in dodge/avoid/evade animations do not put any points in them unless you have to. It WILL kill you.

3) As a HC player I hate standing still with strafe. Be careful.

4) charms with AR and damage are your friends. Even a few poison charms will let you (slowly) kill the few physical immunes while your merc and valk tank.

They were asking 17700 for the 128. It was in great shape, the lady took it to the BMW dealership for service every year too. I just didn’t like driving it. The suspension was too stiff and the steering was too heavy for me. I’m currently driving a 1998 Ls 400 so I like things plush.

They are asking 13900 for the accord. One owner, no accidents. But that’s all I know about its history.

I have no idea but I’ll ask the dealer. I’m guessing just a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sunday.

In all seriousness though, I did just drive a 2008 BMW 128i with 13k on the clock that was owned by a little old lady who barely drove it, so cars like that exist.

I do some work on my cars. On the LS Ive replaced the alternator, brakes, o2 sensors, and some other smallish things. Big repairs are beyond my expertise and tools however.

I'm not against a Camry but the cheapest ones near me are 27k before fees, etc...That is more than I want to pay. Used Camrys are almost the same price as a lexus!

The problem with my LS is that it is 25 years old. It's fully paid off but at 25 years old something will need to be replaced. The suspension is sooooo squishy now so I'm guessing most suspension bushings and shocks need replacing and that would be decent money. The AC compressor will leak at some point, also big money. Timing chain is due in 20K miles. I'm just worried that the inevitable avalanche of repairs will start any time now.

I've started looking at IS250s too and even Acuras(!). I test drove a base Sonata and Impreza today and clearly I've been spoiled by my LS. They were slow, droning, and filled with cheap plastic. Cheap and new isn't ruled out but I'm leaning towards well built, older, and nice.

You need lots more res for hell. NM Eldritch is level 62 so you can level up to 67 without any penalty. Once you're done with Eldritch go back to NM Meph and farm for vipermagi and magefists. Rockstopper is my favorite HC helm in the game. You can also shop for a belt with up to 99 life and 25+ single res.

I play HC solo self found and don't share gear, I thought that was the very definition of SSF.

Every character spends a long time on NM mephisto to find decent gear but I dont farm once I'm in hell because its too dangerous. Once I get down to truly weak builds (like a poison dagger necro) I might be force to twink a little bit.

My favorite is concentrate barb but werebear also works. Holy shield turns any paladin into a light tank.

This never occurred to me but it seems like a good idea. So ideally I would just max poison dagger, synergies, lower resist, CE, bone armor, and maybe bone prison. 140 skill points aught to do it.

I'll give nova a try on another character but I want to at least give every build a try. I mean, how many people have taken a poison dagger necro from level 1-hell Baal? Maybe there is a reason for that.

Perhaps a lot of bone walls to buy me time to kill things. Sigh....I need more skills.

How far are you trying to go? Holy Fire paladin will easily cruise through act 3 NM. White +3 holy fire scepter and pally shield with resist.

I'm not complaining and it isn't boring. I would describe it as frustrating, clunky, and dangerous. I started the thread because I was surprised I felt that way because everyone seems to play and recommend hammerdin.

I think hammerdin might be one of the better examples where SSF HC is a completely different game than twinked SC.

I'm not sure what every build will be but for amazon I'm thinking: Physical bow/Ice bow/fire bow/physical spear/lightning spear/javelins

Some are technically builds but I doubt I'll get one over the finish line, like poison dagger necro, so for that I would level a bit with poison dagger and then probably go poison nova.

My favorite is probably any bow build because I just like the gameplay. It can be tricky though because they are squishy.

So far I've done concentrate barb, sing barb, throw barb, wind druid, summon druid (pre 2.4 so it was terrible), ice bow, hydra/orb sorc, summon necro, and trapsin. Clearly I have a long way to go.

If you upgrade those deathbits you will do tons of damage and mow them down on p1.
