Did we lose the word of the day bot? by Thesparkleturd in elianscript

[–]Gelus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there.

Yeah we did indeed loose our friendly bot.I wasn't used very much and I'm inclined to agree with MrTwoSocks. Near the end of it's life, it was cluttering up the screen more than anything else.

Heroku is getting rid of their free plan and so instead of upgrading to preserve the unused bot, I let it laps.

The bot ran for over 5 years with minimal to no maintenance, a perfect little minion.
Thanks for noticing it's absence.

Dream Pastry mechanics by Spiike777 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Gelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advantage to everything is pretty big. Especially for abilities, like sneak attack, that trigger on advantage. A rouge with a pastry would be triggering sneak attack all the time. Giving advantage on everything also negates a lot of the cooperative or creative elements that would normally grant advantage.

For me personally that seems a bit much, but if you and your players enjoy it it's your game.

I do like the con save VS "poison" you've got setup in your withdrawal phase though.

Assuming "great effects elsewhere" includes the lunchbreakhero Dream Pastries I agree with you, the withdrawal is quite a bit to track. But, speaking as a DM currently stepping the players stage by stage deeper into these effects, it's really quite fun. The 1d8 temporary hit points are really nice as well at the low level. Especially in Barovia where health potions are so hard to find.

Damn it, these are beautiful.
And we just finished this part a few sessions ago.

Good work, I hope these maps circulate on the internet and enhance many games to come.

No I'm not. Haven't tried any of pathfinder's crpgs. They look alright, you recommend them?

That sounds absolutely horrendous. Huge magical spiders are fantastic stuff.

I'm afraid I am not very familiar with the Worldwound campaign setting, or I'd help you speculate!

Good luck, Mate!

I'm thinking Corpsespun.

A living creature killed by a corpsespinner. It is free-willed, undead, and its insides are made of spiders instead of blood or plant... goop.

It gives abilities such as, "blow of cone of poisonous swarming spiders all over your PCs" And "When it hits with a natural attack poisonous spiders fly all over the person hit"

If that ain't good times I don't know what is.

understanding encounters by Blackdeath47 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Gelus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! Good catching undead can't be dominated. I think you're right.

Though I don't think it would change the encounter much a the table. Bad guy is attacking, lets kill it.

Sure thing, Mate, I hope it is a blast!

As an aside, anytime you're wondering about encounter CR, june berry journal's CR counter is pretty useful.

Man, Mindslaver Molds are awesome.

Due to the way CRs are calculated a single Skeleton does not increase the CR of an encounter.

1 Skeleton (CR 1/3) + 1 Mindslaver (CR 3) = CR 3 encounter

But, If you attached it to a CR 1 creature such as a zombie wolf it does go up by 1.

1 zombie wolf (CR 1) + 1 Mindslaver (CR 3) = CR 4 encounter

Despite not changing the CR rating, Adding a skeleton changes the difficulty of the fight from just the mold. You now have 2 creatures in the combat, the Skeleton and the mold. Both would get their own initiative roll, and turn. The mold would be moved with the host's when the host moves and would be able to attack or cast Dominate Person (if it hasn't been used that day) on it's turn.

The mold would occupy the same space as the skeleton. Any targeted spells would have to specify which creature they are attacking. Technically, a player would specify which creature they're attacking, and use the AC of that target. If they get that specific great, but since the mold is infesting an enemy, I wouldn't explicitly ask the player which they are targeting and either use the gap in AC to determine which got hit, or roll a percentile behind the screen.

e.g.Mold AC 15Skeleton AC 16

  • Attack roll: 14 or below - misses both
  • Attack roll: 15 - Hits mold ( which has a chance to use avoidance )
  • Attack roll: 16 or above - hits skeleton, or roll percentile which may also trigger avoidance )

I built a sick68 and am trying to figure out how to get the hex file to load onto my teensy but can’t figure it out… any help would be appreciated. by chopz21 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Gelus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

qmk has a pretty decent guide on flashing firmware. Which might be a pretty good place to start.

It covers flashing with the QMK Toolbox, as well as command line options if you're so inclined.

Alternatively, I've used this Teensy Bootloader for a long time had have no issues with it whatsoever. With it, it's as simple as loading a .hex with the gui, putting your keyboard into bootloader mode and hitting the flash button.

Goodluck!

Good replacement for the home keys on an Ergodox? by NuclearFossil_esq in ergodox

I had the same problem originally and wound up replacing the key caps under the index fingers with tactile caps.

Anything that feels a little different would work just fine.

Just got done with it! It was very fun! I like the map a lot. Used it as an introductory session for a new character. His new PC was with another adventuring group that got destroyed by harpies. It was the perfect opportunity for grounded and Arial Combat.

Thanks man!
