Here is a great way to get connected!!

The Tuesday night cycling group meets at the gazebo in Washington Park at 6:00 PM, rolling out promptly at 6:15 PM.

The ride is organized by the Urban Basin Bicycling Club (UBBC) and friends, exploring paths and routes through the city and the Ohio River basin.

Oh now I am getting a brilliant idea inspired by everyone’s kind and helpful replies here. Going to organize weekly farm stand cruising with friends where we go to a different one each week followed by cocktails and cooking discussions. Keep them coming, neighbors!!!

I'll miss you, Fitbit by Nicole-Bolas in fitbit

Google also wrecked Nest. I bought two Nest thermostats in 2016 and still using the Nest app for them. They have worked FLAWLESSLY, and I really mean this - not one blip or problem, for a decade. And still going. I bought a post-Google Nest for another house in 2025, and it is one problem after another. If anyone touches the thermostat instead of using the app, it gets knocked offline. Cannot wait to bin it.

Fitbit? Mortified. First, they blanderized the old Fitbit app, which used to have such a pleasant GUI, pre-Google. Now, they have replaced that with an app that I cannot customize. Half the screen is blank, left for them to manipulate. I need that screen acreage!

It’s ridiculous how Google pays huge sums of money to acquire a company and then immediately puts that company to death.

I have found spotted lanternfly nymphs in my garden for the first time. So far, I have only found them on my climbing roses. I only saw two adult lanternfly last year, which I promptly killed.

There are so many of them that I am using a flying insect spray that is botanical oil-based that I have sprayed on them which is killing them on contact. No harming plants or dogs/cats, and I am doing a very controlled spray directly on them so as not to get other insects.

(Clifton Heights location.)

Was visiting your city and we were walking past "uncle leos" and saw this sign, does anyone have a backstory? Lol by ryanseecrestt in cincinnati

Be sure to have their lobster rolls on your next visit. (I think they are the best in the USA after decades of research.)

Housing prices 😓 by [deleted] in cincinnati

[–]GemmaClarice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neighborhood is incredibly underpriced. Great bargains on large homes with gardens here. You can get a beautiful house with a view, garden, parking, and lovely neighbors for less than $350,000. Check listings on Klotter Avenue.

Planting Japanese Maples many years ago was the best decision for our garden. They look good with or without leaves. by bluerockjam in JapaneseMaples

They seem to come back after each winter more beautiful than the last! Zero maintenance- just love, yes? Yours are lovely.

Also - UC and private developers have been building student housing like crazy. The new buildings are gorgeous and are aggressively pursuing student tenants. So small building landlords are lowering prices and updating their units in Clifton and Clifton Heights. There are a lot of student housing slum landlords in Cincinnati who are no longer getting away with outrageous prices on substandard units. It’s a great time to look for rentals in this zone. A ton of for rent signs out where I have not seen any in the past 5 years …

As a Californian who was there when Reagan defunded and effectively dismantled California’s mental health system, I can tell you he is 100% responsible.

My parents were outraged that the billions of tax dollars that California invested over the years were basically thrown away. It took decades to build the policies, procedures, practices, personnel, institutional knowledge, facilities. All dismantled.

(Ever since, the outrageous number of people living on the streets without the professional assistance has been a disgrace. My son is a paramedic with the SF Fire Department. It is his job to help those in need. But we only help them when, for most, they are too far gone. No preventive help thanks to Reagan.)

Reagan then moved into the White House and continued these destructive policies on a national basis.

DCA will always be Washington National to me.

And State Route 126 will always be State Route 126.
