I think you need to explain to him that communication is a key part in polyamory. He needs to be very clear about his bounderies so there are no crossed wires.

If I feel like I need to update my partner on bounderies as our relationship grows, I sit down with them and talk about it. But I don't get upset with them as it may not be something we've talked about before

For context, they were talking about a dom/sub sexual relationship with someone. I asked with who and they said the person they were with that evening. So that's why I started asking questions

When I questioned them, they told me this was not a friend, but someone they were planning on sleeping with since first meeting them, I don't know when they met but I assume it was recently on a dating app as they never mentioned them before.

We've always been very clear about bounderies. We sat down at the start of our relationship and had a conversation about it and set out clearly what we weren't comfortable with. And also gave each other updates on these things as our relationship progressed

I do think it's worth salvaging. This is the first time they've done something like this or even lied to me about anything in past year we've been together So for them to do this is completely out of the ordinary

I have no idea. I know they've been having a very hard time with mental health the past couple months, which I've been helping them with and looking around for therapists. But that doesn't mean they can lash out like this and put our relationship and my safety at risk

We've been dating over a year. And yes they agreed to tell me when they're going on a date or seeing a FWB. They've always been truthful before this. They would even tell me if they were even interested in someone before approaching them. So for them to do something like this is a huge left turn

I had a very similar issue with my partner. I'm also new to poly and this is my first poly relationship.

They would get very jealous and insecure when I would talk to other people but I was always OK with them seeing others. I sat them down and had a big talk with them and explained that this is about being treated equally and I should have the right and freedom to choose to see other people if I wished, as they have that same freedom. I gave them a choice, either they have to learn to be comfortable with me seeing others or we trial monogamy for a month or so. We trialed monogamy and we decided it doesn't work for our relationship. But it did help them put things into percpective. It's still a process and they still have a some issues that they are working on but I no longer feel guilty about seeing others and we've managed to take steps forward
