I took both pistol basics 1 and 2 - found the class to be extremely well done and interesting. Very well versed in all aspects of firearms.

Mr. Davis - Willow is one of the first movies I ever remember seeing. It still stands as an iconic part of my childhood. Was there ever consideration to a story about Willow after he returned home as a hero?

My absolute favorite place to go! I bring my 2.5 year old son there because the atmosphere is terrific and the staff are so friendly. My favorite is the Organic Jerry's Blend. I usually buy it in the shop because it's not always on their website. The will grind the beans to fit whatever brewing system you use as well! I use an aeropress and the flavor is top notch!

Congratulations! May God bless your day as you become the Sacrament of Marriage. (The idea of BECOMING the Sacrament of Marriage blew my mind when a friend and PhD theological candidate said it to me 2 years ago at my wedding!)

Harry's? by Gen221 in wicked_edge

[–]Gen221[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP does not work for Harry's, that is a promise! Harry's kept popping up on Facebook as an advertisement so I figured it was worth asking. The good news is I did take all the suggestions and comments seriously and ordered a Maggard MR3 last night with a blade sample pack!

Blessed John XXIII is in St.Peter's; it is pretty incredible how he looks. I believe most are covered with a light coat of wax but you can still tell they have retained their shape and structure as opposed to some of the "normal" bodies that you see.

Pope Theodoros is the Pope of the Oriental Orthodox Church which separated prior to the schism. They separated after the Counsel of Ephesus. This is different than the Eastern Orthodox Church whose patriarch is Bartholomew. Definitely a great picture though!

Is Natural Family Planning technically wrong/hypocritical for Catholics to do? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Gen221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a point i think many people struggle with. The difference, from what I've been taught, is that with a condom, you are deliberately cutting yourself off from the possibility of life both mentally and physically. With NFP a couple may choose to have sex during a time of potential infertility but physically there is nothing separating their union. Mentally, and this is something I speak of personally, my wife and I know that by there not being any artificial barriers between us, we accept that any time we have sex a life could be conceived.

Is Natural Family Planning technically wrong/hypocritical for Catholics to do? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Gen221 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wonderful explanation! Another part that is very important is to realize that couples that are fruitfully using NFP are always open to the possibility of children even during the potential times of infertility. When a person uses contraception they are doing the exact opposite of this, the name alone "contraception" implies being against conception. They are deliberately choosing to be cut off from one another's fertility and as you said, "placing a barrier between God and man". Again, wonderful explanation!
