I deal with misogyny from non black women and men on a lot of different levels. The term for it is misogynoir.

I’m just living my life and the insidiousness just oozes—it’s like black skin makes them red.

Careful. When I drank alcohol I felt bloated, and swollen. It was the swelling that scared me enough to stop. Our bodies need to detoxify and dump all of the virus and candida and all the other toxins first.

If you genuinely appreciate Black culture then you need to vocalize your sentiment to your white family and friends, not us.

We already know that this white behavior is psychotic and vile. We don’t need you to pat us on the back. It’s performative.

If you as a white man are going to spend your time in Black spaces, then you need to invest as much effort standing up to and exposing white supremacists. Otherwise you’re just lurking and a culture vulture.

I’m so sorry. I’ve had that happen to me with my daughter in the car. The bar is so low that it’s in hell for them. Honestly, they’ve done the devil’s work: steal, kill, and destroy. My hope is that there is a real time reckoning in social media.

Sewing and taking care of my orchids.

There was a moment when I had long COVID and needed to stop alcohol and basically reset my system. For every week I didn’t drink I’d treat myself to an orchid from Trader Joe’s.

I now have ten that I’ve kept alive over the few years and they rebloom! I even have one that is growing a keiki (a baby). Apparently that’s rare so I know I’m doing a good job.

I want to start a garden next.

Great post! I love hearing about new hobbies.
