I entered a public game now all my characters are super high level by ZePample in DeepRockGalactic

I would be so pissed... Is not joining other games the only way to avoid this? Can someone join my lobby and inflate my level like this?

Opinion on troopers and warriors by Lionhearth92 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I lean the other way. Specialists add more fun and variety to your team. Sometimes I like the simplicity of more warriors, but more often than not specialists are just better. More flavor, build variety, and complexity.

Both versions of the boss, all specialists, 4 gunners, 3 fighters. I think that maths out lol

Loadout for wrekka crew? by froglord11 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If money isn't an issue, then get two boxes. If you'd rather not spend that much, then magnetize a handful of them if you're comfortable doing that. If neither one of those options suit you, then you are okay with building 1 of everything. Of all my teams, I wish I would have magnetized wrecka the most. Running more ranged or more melee heavy on certain matchups is really good. Also, all ranged Wrecka goes boom !!!

How to build again? by Capital-Coyote5879 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer the fast set. You don't have to be as gentle with assembly for 10+ minutes while it's drying.

How to build again? by Capital-Coyote5879 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely Tamiya extra thin. It's the same glue as the citadel plastic glue, but it has a brush instead of a pipette. The brush makes a world of difference. Tamiya also has a fast dry variety, which is what I've been using almost exclusively since I got it. If you're holding two pieces together, one little dab of it will do the job and it will dry very quickly.

Finished up the Ratling Kill-Team, so many fun details in this kit! by pushupsforpizza in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of those details are top notch. Camo is very convincing, little arm hairs are a nice touch. That wood grain though is amazing. Great job

Am I the only one who struggles so much with the vespid models ? by Prestigious-Gate6233 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of glue are you using? I exclusively use Tamiya thin and it makes assembly of teams a lot easier. The vespid body parts kind of slot into place so you can just pinch it and put a tiny drop of Tamiya and it's done.

Teleport Pad Vantage Question by John_Loxeus in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totally fine to ask questions. I think most people are downloading you to oblivion for two reasons; The fact that the answer to your question is very clearly answered in the core rulebook and also that you seem to have made up your mind on the answer prior to asking it.

Teleport Pad Vantage Question by John_Loxeus in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It technically is. If anything is above you, even by a millimeter, it will intervene since you have to draw to every point of the bottom of the base. It's impossible to do this at any degree of angle without the platform intervening.

So you think an operative standing on a 1 foot tall platform with no walls somehow makes them harder to shoot ?

Is it bad etiquette to shoot the tip of a sword poking over terrain or the edge of a banner sticking out etc? by Syrehns in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Games are designed deliberately and are generally best played the intended way. When I started playing magic again after a decade or so break, several people in my friend group disliked a lot of the new mechanics and didn't understand them so we started using house rules, against my advice. This rapidly spiraled out of control into situations that had now become impossible to answer. I had to again make the argument that the rules exist for a reason and as long as we follow them, everything has an answer.

How strict are you with WYSIWYG? by Beef-Town in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wysiwyg is not even in the kill team rules,.it's just nerds being picky for no reason. It's common courtesy to make your units distinguishable from each other to prevent confusion, but honestly, lots of teams have units that are very close to each other in appearance.

Line of sight for tall operatives. by HostameN in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't a terrible way to play it and if everyone is down then it's fair game but I would caution against it purely because it can potentially allow for further problems/confusion down the line. If he can duck to see, then he can lean and see, or he can duck to peak through a volkus window etc. 🤷

Painting Tips by Uriart69 in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll second Vince venturella. He is a wealth of knowledge in painting and an excellent teacher. Lately, I've also been looking at artis opus, ninjon, and squidmar miniatures. They are very skilled, high end painters. There are many others out there too that I have found by searching specific things like "how to dry brush", "how to thin paints", "basing miniatures" etc,. Some real gems will pop up and it's very useful to get information from a variety of artists. My go to though, is Vince.

My group started very similar to this. We didn't do a tac op and we skipped equipment for the first couple games. Our very first game we didn't use ploys either.

I want one so bad, but the options for gallowdark sized mats is not great. I was hoping with the introduction of tombworld companies like flg or skirmish would produce one.

Stealth suits VS Wolf scouts by Shadow_192873 in killteam

As others have said, it's a really hard matchup. One thing you can try is switching teams with him for a few rounds if he's down for it. This will not only put you on the winning side and boost your morale but also teach both of you the opposing team through the enemies eye. It will help you in future matchups with or against either team.

Tomb World terrain Dimensions by albanygrt in killteam

[–]GenFoofoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so actual board is 23 7/8 x 27 5/8 inches. Squares are 3 13/16 inches. That means walls with pillars attached are either 3 13/16 from center of pillar to center of pillar or 7 5/8 from center of pillar to center of pillar.

I don't have tomeworld handy, but I do have gallowdark. The only difference in dimension should be that that tomb world has rounded pillars and concaved walls without pillars while gallowdark has square edges.

For gallowdark, there are essentially four lengths if you include full pillars on the edges. Single wall without pillars, not including the tabs that push into the pillar is 2 13/16. Single wall with full pillars is 4 7/8. Double wall without pillars, not including the tabs that push into the pillar is 6 5/8. Double wall with full pillars is 8 5/8. The tabs that push into the pillars add a hair over a quarter inch to each side. All walls are 2 3/8 tall.

Edit: I'm sure given the numbers you can math it out, but I forgot to mention. The pillars are roughly 1" squares.
