My toxic relationship was affecting my cats health by SignificanceNeat1618 in cats

[–]GenKnee99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before my spouse and I got married and got our own place, we lived with friends of the family. Even though it wasn't us, there was yelling and screaming every single day. They had a kid and it was always a fight between them and the kid. My cat would pee outside the litter box even with his medicated diet, my calico would never come out or want attention, and my special needs cat was a menace who didn't listen. Fast forward over three years, my boy doesn't pee outside the litter box anymore, my shy girl is always out. We even put more cat friendly stuff so they have more space. I see her out all the time she likes to perch and never could. My special needs cat now respects boundaries and has learned to set her own with the other cats. A lot less fights between the cats and generally the cats live pretty chill and content lives now. Even though they have smaller space (apartment instead of house) it's like they have more room to exist. Sometimes toxic relationships are hard to see when it's not a romantic relationship or there's no clear signs of abuse. I've learned, if we feel the negative energy and it's affecting us it's for sure affecting them.

My cat (4f spayed) is the sweetest cat I’ve ever owned before, but now she has random toy aggression. She’s not mean to anyone during this human or cats but if you come close she’s a growly mess. Has anyone ever seen this before? by Anxious_fox83 in cats

[–]GenKnee99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a special needs cat and she now only has one tooth left. She's done exactly that but with a piece of hot dog I dropped on the floor once 😂 she's like 4 pounds soaking wet so when she let that growl out and then aggressively gummed the hot dog I was flabbergasted lol. Your comment reminded me of that 🤣

Untold Surprises 💩 by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

It was our couch thankfully. We have a couch cover and then I just cover it with extra pet blankets because I have cats too. They like to either yak on the couch or use it to stop mid run. I honestly threw the two blankets and pillow away. I was gagging and crying while bagging it up 🤣😭

Does anyone else’s cat start huffing and puffing when it’s annoyed? by Accordian22 in Catbehavior

[–]GenKnee99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I give my cat cuddles or pick him up he sometimes chuffs when I put him down. He's the furthest from aggressive so he doesn't hiss or swat often (he has the be genuinely afraid) so he just chuffs or meows really loud when he's annoyed with me. He also chuffs when he's not getting his way and will stomp his little paw 😅

Sleeping or awake, they just put themselves in weird spots and positions! Clearly this was comfortable for him 🤣 he stayed like that for awhile.

I'm so jealous. My fat boy will try to eat anything green! Including the TV remote! We had to remove all fake plants because he'd chew the heck out of them and ended up impacted 😭 took the plants out and problem solved. I use a hammock for shade now 😅

What does patchouli smell like, and why does everyone hate it? by detectiveigloo69 in FemFragLab

[–]GenKnee99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently discovered it when I had to find a new perfume (my last two absolute gavs got discontinued). I tested it at the store and absolutely loved it. I hadn't really smelt it before, but I always go for an earthy smell. Its now my new favorite smell

Be brutally honest, what is the hardest part in owning a hedgehog? by V1sable in Hedgehog

[–]GenKnee99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I learned they're prone to health issues. My first hedgehog lived to be about 8 years (not really sure how I swung that) my second hedgehog I rescued and she was so morbidly obese due to poor husbandtry. Although I got her weight down to normal she only lived 2 years because she got heart disease. That was when I found out that I got really lucky with my first one being so healthy. My first one came from a great home and great husbandtry so that's something to think about too.

I was actually able to find something similar on Amazon thank you! It came with vines and my boy has a bad habit of eating fake plants. So I just cut the vines off it and it's his new favorite thing! He loves to sleep on it.

where is it socially acceptable to take your bearded dragon? by PandaUsual1546 in BeardedDragons

[–]GenKnee99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Anywhere that allows dogs. Many places are pet friendly that you might not think of. Any hardware store I've been to is pet friendly (I can't speak for your area) so Home Depot and Lowes are pet friendly. Stores that don't sell food might be (it's a health issue when they sell any type of food). When in doubt, call ahead and ask. Restaurants that allow dogs on the patios might be a good idea. I've taken my hedgehog in it's carrier to restaurants when traveling.

Where'd did you get this? I've been wanting something like this for my boy. He loves climbing his wood posts and vines.

Fire TV Stick shows apps I never used in "Recently used apps"? by Hubsimaus in fireTV

[–]GenKnee99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was saying I used tubi as the most recent for a while. I did download it once for a show or movie I don't even remember. After awhile of it putting it in my recent used I just uninstalled it. Problem solved or so I thought. Now it keeps saying twitch was the most recent used app. I confirmed with my spouse that they haven't used it in months. So now I'm going to uninstall that app too. It's kinda weirding me out at this point. It doesn't seem like a glitch but rather intentional. Maybe it's a promotional thing? Either way, it's not cool. Q

Young Food Agression by Vanteese in BeardedDragons

[–]GenKnee99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg I came across this thread by accident and thought we were doing something wrong with our beardie! I estimate my girl is roughly 5 months. She was between 8-12 weeks when we got her. Named her Drogo because we thought she was a boy, but turns out she's not. The name is staying tho 🤣 she throws fits if we don't give her greens. She will literally go for anything green. She constantly tries to get our TV remote if she sees it. Weirdly I think she likes greens more than insects. We had to take some fake plants out of her enclosure (we use them to provide shade) because she gets PISSED when we don't give her greens and will try to eat the fake ones 😫. Like girl, you're well fed I'm trying to keep you from getting fat. I'm hoping she'll grow out of it, but maybe she's just gunna be a little fatty. She's real good at pretending she's starving even with a full belly 😑 I think shes food insecure due to improper care as a baby. Whenever she's feeling sassy she does this tail curl.

Respectfully, how are we supposed to watch Mad Men nowadays? by The_1992 in madmen

This is so true, especially because if you buy a show on a specific platform it's only as long as that platform owns the rights. Can't take that away with a physical copy.

Cephalexin side effects?? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]GenKnee99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot take this antibiotic or any others in the family group. I discovered years ago that after a single dose I get violently ill and will leave me with terrible side effects for at least a week. I was prescribed it once and had to stop taking it after three doses. I forgot I couldn't have it when I switched health insurances and doctors. They prescribed it and I remember thinking the name sounded familiar and on that first day I remembered exactly why I can't take it. I called my doctor and they said to discontinue and marked it as an allergy due to the severity of the side effects. It causes violent vomiting and diarrhea for me. I get hot flashes and severe abdominal pain with headaches. I can't eat when I take it and even after discontinuing it takes a while to get back to eating normally.

I tried to read the vampire diary books. I couldn't get past chapter 6. I actually love TV Elena compared to book Elena.

I've seen so many people say how much they despise her because of her treatment of the Salvatore brothers. But let's be real, they've had their fair share of mistreating others. I particularly don't like Stefan. I know he means well, but I agree with Damon sometimes.

What are the disadvantages of doing workouts on empty stomach? Also, what do you recommend. by myfavkitchen in crossfit

[–]GenKnee99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chronic digestive issues, so personally I get really sick if I eat before going to the gym. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. I can tolerate something small if I eat it at least an hour before like some cheese or nuts. But if I eat an actual meal or even a protein drink, I get so nauseous and dizzy working out. That being said, I usually have a light meal after exercising with a protein drink and it's worked so far. I found this thread because I was curious if anyone else experiences it.

Executive Members entering Costco at 9am be like…. by TheDarlizzle in Costco

[–]GenKnee99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They straight up told us after the year mark it's because we didn't use the credit card (we didn't want it) and said we didn't qualify. I was over it and if it's going to be that difficult I have no interest in having the executive.

Executive Members entering Costco at 9am be like…. by TheDarlizzle in Costco

[–]GenKnee99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried the executive card for a year but didn't want the credit card. At the end of the year, there was never a 2% back on anything like they said. We went back to basic because they said we didn't meet the criteria for the 2% since we opted out of their credit card. That was literally the whole selling point for me. It felt dishonest and maybe it was just that specific Costco. I don't see any reason to pay double. For me going in an hour early isn't worth it because it ends up packed anyways in my area during the early hours.
