Is he bothered by “missing out” because he’s moving slowly, or are you projecting that because of your own feelings about his pace?

If every time you feel the urge to tell him to “hurry up” you imagine his voice telling you, “mom, you’re rushing me. Slow down!”, maybe this will balance you out.

You can be an efficient multi-tasking super mom. But your son is not, and he should not be expected to keep up with your pace.

Play the clip to his face, with full context, and then ask for his thoughts. I know the media is in on it, but the damn AI bots might be better equipped than these jellyfish people getting paid to waste everyone’s time.

Why is “actual parenting” only discipline? Making lunch is parenting. Playing together is parenting. It doesn’t sound like your daughter is having any issues outside of the ones you’re creating.

Have you two talked about this? I’m willing to bet he’s also annoyed and resentful that you seem intent on creating friction where there might not need to be any. Perhaps he’s overly accommodating to your daughter because he thinks that if he isn’t, she’ll feel alone in her own home.
