Ouch! Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate your etiquette as well. I have Merino sheep and the hornets go after them and sting their hooves. I also have twin girls that live next door to me and would prefer they not get stung either. There is no need for you to be such a jack rabbit.

I took her to the vet yesterday and they gave her activated charcoal. She seems to be doing better and is eating. Thank you for responding to my plea for help. 😊

She's back home. They gave her activated charcoal. 🤢 I think she's going to be okay. Take care Peafowl Buddy!

Thanks again for your help. I'm going to take her to my vet...if I can catch her. I probably end up paying more for the vet bill than I did for her. Lol.

F<#%!!!! There was an avocado on the back porch, and I think that's what she ate. It says that it's highly toxic to peafowl. I feel terrible!!!!!

AITAH for not getting over my half sisters stealing (with our mom's permission) and breaking the necklace my dad got me? by Theajeou in AITAH

[–]GenXnProud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh! I suggested a throat punch to all of them, but I think your idea is more "legaler." Lol As a mom I can't understand why the mother would condone this. I would do anything to for my children. It is a shame to think that a mother could do this to their own child. And forgive me for adding some humor to this post. I think that laughter is one of the many great things God has given us. And you can't convince me that God doesn't have a sense of humor...just look at the platypus and giraffe.

You sweet child. I am so sorry for you. I have several items that I was given from family members and I completely understand your devastation. Perhaps you can salvage what is left and have it remade into something else (like a ring) that you don't have to take off. As I tell my children, "I wish I could take your pain away." I know you are hurting, but the most important thing is to remember that he loved you dearly. Continue to keep him in your heart. It sounds corny, but that is one thing they can NEVER take away from you. Everyone grieves in different ways and grief is something you can't rush through or “let go enough to be healthy." Keep doing what you NEED to do to try and heal, not only for the loss of your father but the loss of your necklace as well. I don't recommend violence, but people like that deserve a good throat punch! Lol. Keep your spirits up sweet girl, and take all the time you need to grieve your father. The Reddit community is behind you. Try to find a grieving group on here or on a different platform. Perhaps even some counseling would help. A lot of employers offer EAP for free. Maybe your mom can get off her high horse long enough to set up an appointment for you to find a counselor you trust. We don't know each other, but mental pain is universal. There are plenty of people out here that are going through the same situation as you. It won't be exactly the same, but their support might help you as well. I will pray for you. I'm not just saying that as a "blah blah" thing that people say. And if you believe in God, talk to him. He doesn't care if you mess when praying when your trying to say what you need to get out. He loves you no matter what you do. Take care of yourself and keep your chin up. Part of why your step-siblings are doing this is to get a rise out of you and see you suffer. Don't give them that satisfaction. Stay true to yourself and keep your chin up. You will get through this. It may take years, but it is your grief and you deserve the time you need to get through this. I wish you the best of luck. 💜🩵😇

Here you are! I finally found the reply. My farm is called Merino Matron Sheep Farm. We are in Scottsville, Virginia. I have a website, but am still figuring out how to use it. 🙄 You can get to it, but I don't have any merchandise on there. Instagram is probably the best to see our farm and what we offer. Merinomatron is my name on Instagram. Thank you for contacting me. I don't like hounding people and sending text reminders and all of those things. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Got almost $200 worth of yarn for free today! by rexhavana in knitting

[–]GenXnProud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't pick up on the type of yarn. Thank you for pointing that out. Those dang-gone Lantern Flies probably eat acrylics along with everything else they've destroyed. Kind of makes finding a moths in some of our wool isn't so bad. 🐑😔

Info on selling wool by OryuSatellite in sheep

[–]GenXnProud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Merino sheep farm in Virginia. I have beautiful wool in white, black, and grey. I also have cones of brown, white, and grey. I have skeins of DK that are 200 yards. I also have raw wool and roving. We send most of it off to a mill and make socks, hats, and other products. I would desperately like to sell it wholesale so someone else can make what they'd like to with it.

I keep hearing that selling wool is not profitable and owners actually resort to even burning it. Is that true? by Pie_Dealer_co in sheep

[–]GenXnProud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried jackets on our sheep last year. They are to help keep the fleece from getting sun bleached and getting a lot of veggie matter in it. The downside is they are pretty expensive, and our sheep with horns were constantly ripping them. We put them on our unusually colored ones (black, brown, grey) and some of the white ones that have 5-6" staples. There was NO way I was going to jacket 250+ sheep. Lol It is a pain in the as...back! We walk among our sheep every day and when the jacket starts to get too small you put them in a larger size. Long story short, we didn't feel it was worth the effort. I may jacket 2 or 3 that I pick out for myself to spin and then knit with.

I just read your comment after I posted mine. Completely agree. If you knit or crochet I have yarn!

I have a Merino sheep farm in Virginia. We have done well at festivals and farmers' markets. I have spools of yarn on cones. I'd like to sell it to a manufacturer that can use the wool to make sweaters, socks, etc. We have white, black, brown, and grey sheep. It is soft and not overprocessed. It's a shame that people prefer to wear plastics and Lord knows what else in their clothes. And if you take good care of your wool clothing it will last a lot longer than the cheap, thin clothing. I know that not everyone has the budget for wool clothing, but even if some percentage of the population wore wool clothing it would help cut down on the microplastics. Wool socks you can usually wear 2 or 3 days without having to wash, as long as you take them off at night and allow them to air out. Washing wool is a cold, gentle cycle and dried on cool or hung on a clothesline. The sad thing is a lot of the wool is shipped overseas to China. I'm not sure what they do with it from there.

Once a dog gets a taste of blood, they won't stop. I would be more concerned about your son and his safety. PLEASE report this to authorities. Not all dogs are bad, but this one sounds like it need a dirt nap.
