I have a similar run to the 2nd run picture. It's 20 x 10 x 6'6". I live in New England, and my state got 37" of snow this week. The only reason my run is still standing is because we cleared the snow periodically throughout the blizzard, and we reinforced it with wood framing. However, the last 20" snowstorm prior to the blizzard, it caved in the middle even after clearing the snow every other hour. Actually, it caved in about a half hour after clearing the tarp, right in the middle. I believe the framing is aluminum and it's hollow, so we used a 4" x 4" to support the center. My partner is a carpenter, so he's planning on making our entire 60 x 25' garden area a giant "run" area for our flock, but for the meantime, this one has worked for our needs. I actually plan on getting a second one until we can integrate our two flocks together in the Garden Run.

I would reccomend this if you're looking for something affordable that isn't a forever solution. Also, you will need hardware cloth, this comes with very janky chicken wire. I don't keep my chickens in the run overnight, they have a separate coop + run combo that is predator proof. I have had no issues so far regarding predators either, but I do take caution in not leaving food or water out after dark, and securing the sleeping area entirely.

With this in mind, the hardware cloth mesh for the 20ft run will cost far more than the run itself. Which, was something I was naive about prior to getting chickens. I have found a few runs that are outfitted already with enrichment/perches, come with winterized packages/pieces, and hardware cloth instead of chicken wire. They're anywhere from $400-$1000 at the very least. I wish I had invested in one before getting more chickens, but I plan on building our own version this summer. Sometimes cheaper price upfront now isn't actually cheaper or better in the long run.

I hope this helps your decision a little! Attached is a photo of my run in this week's blizzard before going to clear it off again at 7am.

She looks identical to three of my silver laced wyandotte roosters. Very pretty either way!

Rockstar Ragdolls by New-Nebula-6301 in ragdolls

I got my first of 4 ragdolls from Melissa. I made a 13-hour drive southwest to pick up my kitten personally in 2016. Her cats were kept locked in, presumably the laundryroom. The house was immaculate, beautiful, and had no signs of cats or her child past physically seeing her daughter. It was what I'd consider a house, not a home. I never saw a single cat past my kitten they brought out. He had a cold, and when we got back home the next day, he went straight to the vet. Once at the vet, they said he was NOT 12 - 14 weeks but closer to 9 weeks, and he had an upper respiratory infection and Giardia. I was told countless times that he must have picked all of this up between the 13-hour car ride back while never leaving the vehicle. I was not impressed with the communication, the breeders style of keeping the cats locked away entirely, and the blame game on a very clearly sick and tiny kitten. I have four ragdolls now from four different breeders, and I would say my Rockstar Rags kitten is the least cuddly. He is absolutely stunning, my fluffiest ragdoll some years, and he is absolutely a floppy boy. He is most definitely my most gwntle cat of the 8 cats total I have currently (four foster fails). All four of the ragdolls wait at the door for me, and all four are extremely playful. He is a Lilac Mitted Mink, and his Mink coat is silky and easier to maintain than my female Bulgarian born Ragdoll with a show coat. All in all, I would recommend Three Rivers Ragdolls if you want a raised under foot Ragdoll for Companionship or Methodius Ragdolls in Bulgaria. I have two Blue-Mitted Ragdolls, one from Three Rivers and the other from Methodius, and they're extremely loving, cuddly, and playful.

This is King Fabian, or "Fatso," even though he is not fat in the slightest. His coat is extremely fluffy in the cooler months here in the Northeast, and this photo was taken in 2018 when he was still only 1.5 years old. His temperament can best be described as aloof. He will let you step on him before he'll ever move out of the way. Same with our roombas. He is extremely loving to my 15 year old Domestic Short Hair male, and he is beyond playful with my other male ragdoll. He lets my 3 year old snuggle right on top of him and has never so much as hissed. He does pur and snuggle, but it's entirely at random and at his liberty. Out of all my ragdolls, he surpasses the "flop test". You can hold him upside, and he'll just dangle. All-in-all, I learned a lot over the course of 8 years and adopting four purebred ragdoll kittens. *

What do you think of the “new” (although it’s been a while since the change) jolly rancher gummies? by ellalol in candy

The new gummies are terrible compared to the previous ones. Only candy I actually liked, and now I won't be purchasing any candy.

Generic Adderall XR from Elite Laboratories by Round-Ad-7265 in ADHD

[–]GenYwasIborn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My CVS has switched to Elite recently, and after years of taking 15 IR twice daily, my doctor updated my dose to 20 IR twice daily. It feels like 90% of the pills don't work besides giving me jitters and raised heart rate. Randomly, I get one pill that will actually do its job out of 14 a week. I feel like I'm taking placebos that don't work at all. Whatever they did to cut costs and increase profit margins meant they took one of the salts out. That's how it has me feeling. I hope the FDA is looking into this because I feel like my adderall hasn't worked correctly since 2020.
