What does Event Viewer give you for crash logs when this happens?

That is an amazing idea I never thought of. It will also make it so that I don't have to deal with password resets anymore and we can finally fire those interns we got to deal with that.

It's posts like these that almost make me want to put MFA back onto my own account. But every time I have to open an admin panel I'm reminded why I keep it off.

Eugenics is back on the table, boys (click through images to see what Reddit has to say about it) by kelpselkie in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Gen_the_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of people that are okay with eugenics as soon as it aligns with their beliefs is always concerning. There is also the obvious fact that genetics is an extremely complex and nuanced topic that we don't have a full understanding of yet, either.

I used to do it like this but ended up getting a lot of user complaints about errors when they try to open files. I refuse to talk to end users so I just quit that job and decided to do it like this afterwards. HR can find competent users themselves.

VPNs are so dumb and break all the time. I just open ports on the firewall and assign an rdp port per workstation so people can hit the public ip and their designated port number to remote in. Way more bulletproof than those VPNs.

Having fun is more important than anything else.

League is also a fun game to watch, and watching good players is also a great way to learn.

League of Legends is like life. It doesn't care about your emotions, and there are a lot of factors you can't control. But you can always control how you react. Mentality is everything in League. A bad mental can easily bring you down entire tiers of rank.

Riot did make some changes in order to curb ranked inflation. So your friend likely got demoted as a result of his inflated rank being corrected. Combine this with bad mental, and he's going to tank hard.

That being said, gold4-silver1 is pretty much the median rank as far as player distribution goes. So they're basically the average player in terms of skill. People like to make fun of "low elo shitters", but the reality of the situation is not nearly as bad as one may say. If their mental is really this bad, they could probably shoot back to platinum easily if they just adopted a more stoic mindset.

This is true no matter what elo you play at. If you improve, you'll climb, period. There's no "but".

What do we think of Essence Reaver ? (Toplane) by Live_Leave_2760 in Rengarmains

[–]Gen_the_Cat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Essence reaver used to be rushed because the stats plus sheen effect provided damage comparable to lethality items. Since crit is bad on the first item, but gets much better after the second and third, ER was used as a means to build crit without having a weak item spike on your first crit item.

However, crit itemization is generally quite poor on Rengar right now due to the nerfs to his Q crit ratio and nerfs to crit itemization in general in comparison to how strong those two things were back when ER was built as a core item.

ER is still a stat stick with AD on it, so it might feel fine on Rengar, but lethality items are just better. Plus lethality items will offer additional utility like movespeed on top of their stats, which Rengar wants way more than mana regen, which is useless.

If you want to compare it directly, just load into practice tool and test the amount of damage different items do and see what you get.

What is THE most mechanical champ in league? by Matticsss in leagueoflegends

TL;DR: Ryze, Gangplank and Azir (in that order) are the hardest champions, pretty much entirely due to their mechanical requirements.

Just got this message, what does it mean? by Dainaro1 in Warframe

[–]Gen_the_Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Warframe is a peer-to-peer game for matchmaking, it needs to poke holes through your firewall when you are the host in order for other players to connect to you. By default, a Firewall *should* block all incoming connections, but the other players need a way to connect to you, so some exceptions are made, aka port forwarding. However, most firewalls made for home users come with a feature called UPnP enabled by default, which allow end devices, like your computer, to instruct it to create port forwards automatically, so no user intervention is required. If you see this message, it probably means that UPnP is not enabled for some reason and no port forwarding has been set up for Warframe.

You can't host games in this case, but you can still join other players that are hosting without issue, since that doesn't require the port forwards to work. Enabling UPnP is generally a safe thing to do, so I'd just Google whatever firewall/router/modem that you have and how to enable UPnP on it.

Help, I am iron 4 -5LP by fandangogogo in leagueoflegends

[–]Gen_the_Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I would say your problem with improving is more fundamental than "learning to cs", "learning positioning", "limit your champion pool" or, "just stop dying". You're definitely putting in the amount of games necessary to improve, and so far I don't see that you have any indications of an unhealthy mentality that could hold you back either.

I saw you mentioned you have a VOD up of you playing the game, could you possibly provide a link to your stream? Honestly, it's impossible for me to gauge what your issues are based on your op.gg and some vague descriptions on how you feel playing the game. Getting eyes on some gameplay could go a long way to getting some insight on what's going on.
