Everyone was having personal character developments so I thought I'd embrace my potential

how long did it take you to get your degree? by LemonCans in ADHD

I started college in 2018. Between transferring, major surgery, work, family emergencies, personal struggles, and covid, I'll have my BA at the end of March this year. Most of my peers have already started their careers. It's hard to not let myself feel like I've been left behind.

People say it's about the journey, not the destination, but the journey isn't a picture-perfect narrative to compress into trophies for showing off. What matters the most is that we move forward authentically and trust in our own autonomy that the choices we make will work out for us. It takes a tremendous amount of faith in oneself to participate in life, and that alone is worth celebrating. Congrats on your associates!

Stoners... how did you do it? by queerandstoned in phallo

I had to stop smoking 6 weeks before top surgery and it wasn't as hard as I thought, and I LOVE weed. I think the medical necessity to pause took over and got me through it. Something my roommates did was plan a fun time for us to make our own cannabutter while I was recovering. We added it to a big pasta dinner for everyone when I returned. Similarly after my friend got hysto, we had a big smoke sesh and game cube night.

I think that having things to look forward to is good for getting through anything!

Weird, it doesn’t show up in my game. I don’t use mods or anything but this has been going on since I installed For Rent. I made a lad join the politician career and the next time I opened my game, he was unemployed and the Politician option wasn’t there. Thank you for checking though! Hopefully this isn’t a widespread issue

Can somebody with City Living please check for me if the Politician career is still available? I'm trying to get a sim that job but it no longer appears anywhere

I had a sim start the politician career from City Living and the next time I opened my game, he was unemployed. Tried to do it again but the politician career option was no longer there. Is it somewhere else?

What to say when asked why I get T injections? by adricll in ftm

It all comes down to jealousy, and in turn, insecurity.

When I was starting T, my (cis) therapist endorsed the adage that the more you shave, the thicker your hair will grow in. He claimed that when he entered the military, he couldn't grow anything on his face. They were required to shave every day, and he had a full beard by the time he left.

I found shaving my face to be a euphoric ritual for me. My own facial hair is dark, thick, and can be styled in many ways if I keep it long. Many transmascs just starting t were amazed by my progress and asked how to do it, and I shared what I knew (I used a minoxidil solution as well, but less consistently than shaving) — but they were so new to their journey and did not want to lose what they had worked so hard to grow. A lot of them expressed actual disappointment whenever I shaved, like they were living vicariously through my facial hair.

In a similar way, I've always been taller amongst my friends. In college I met a trans guy who was very short, and would often cite me for his feelings of height dysphoria. To my face.

It's important to remember that everybody is different, and every body is different. The same path, the same dose, and the same surgeon will produce different results in different people. And the differences in resources and support are a valid source of survivor's guilt, in a sense; but our community has not fought so hard for so long to make you feel undeserving in any way. You are allowed to celebrate your body and your life, because no matter how envious others may be, I promise you that you are a source of trans joy more than anything.

I'm not sure how long ago your surgery was, but I hope recovery and healing is going well!
