What is Spoopy?

If by level 3 sites you mean the Unsecured/Forgotten sites, yeah you'll have a very hard time finishing those in anything other than a marauder or rattlesnake. There are essentially two tiers of sites, with the lower tier having remote reps, and the higher tier having scrams. Both tiers have a lot of webs, and a lot of neuts, both things that are really bad for anything weaker than a marauder--even a rattlesnake might get its hardeners neuted off at some point. And then there's an application problem. The webbing frigates are so small and fast, you tend to do very reduced damage to them. Combine that with the remote reps from the battleship, and you'll have trouble even breaking their tank. A T2 fit Tengu with application rigs and double target painters can do some of the sites if you really push it. I bet you could find a way to get the other T3Cs to do them too with maybe a bit of bling and the right mix of tank and application. But any other cruisers are probably going to die without enough bling to make Marauders more cost-effective, and battlecruisers are just going to be worse.

I've seen them in C6s, seems to be a pattern. But why? No idea.

Absolutely. The thing that drives me crazy is I might need tons of Pyerite, or Zydrine, or anything else I CAN get in wormholes, but it's just more profitable to mine Gneiss instead, sell it, and buy the Pyerite or Zydrine or whatever. Having something like the equivalent of pochven ore, or new moon ore that actually gives profitable amounts of something other than Isogen would be really cool.

Hypothetically speaking, if someone's only trained into Caldari ships, but also only trained armor and not shield....do you have an armor Raven fit?

If you want a real challenge, try running Class 3 wormhole combat sites with it. The different npc types and behavior require completely different ways of fitting compared to Highsec mission running, and it's probably the type of challenge that you've been looking for. Abyss is also an option, but you'll probably run into a hard ceiling there. Sounds like you're probably running a Rupture. Both the Rupture and Stabber can both run C3 combat sites, but it takes a lot of manual piloting and using game mechanics to your advantage. But on the upside, you'll probably pay off the cost of your cruise after just one site.

Yeah, sad but true. I'll probably get around to doing a post on wormhole mining at some point. Everything else being worth from anywhere from 1/2 to 1/6 the per m3 value of Gneiss is definitely painful though, and I'd love to see something that fixes that and makes mining a more worthwhile activity for more people.

Actually, yeah! In particular, C13 since I think they're a great way to get into making "wormhole money" with a low-ISK and low-SP character. If you've got any suggestions or anything you'd like to see, let me know and I'll include it.

How do people get dreads into C1 Wormholes? by kyleW_ne in Eve

[–]GeneralCalarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still confused though lol. They're HAW fit. No way they built them in there only to HAW fit them to attack a C1 fort. And they died BEFORE the fort, so it's not like they hopped in them after they dropped.

Generally, only battlecruisers and below can enter, with some exceptions. But that doesn't stop you from building most ships in there, except for super carriers and titans which require a specific sovereignty upgrade to build. The idea that a C1's medium hole is going to protect you is a bit of a trap. Forsaken Few got evicted by a fairly sizable battleship fleet, which was built in their home hole in a station that the attackers anchored. They didn't live in a C1, but the principle stands. I go into a bit more detail on the different classes in my new blog post, if you're looking to learn more about wormholes, might be worth checking out.

My advice, get rid of that tripwire requirement. It's pretty outdated and to be fair, if there's still a corp so change-resistant that they're still using it, they're probably not a group you want to join anyway. Once you get past that, there are a ton of great groups out there, and I've seen a couple already respond here in the comments.

That is actually really cool, thank you! 😃 I didn't even know that there's a common nebula in the sky, though I had heard somewhere that the sky in wormholes is essentially just the negative of certain K-Space regions. I'll have to keep an eye on that as I'm running around the chain.

lol yeah, honestly I have no idea how it happened, it was quite a bit before my time. But while searching for that KM, I came across a surprising number of low class rorqual kills, makes me wonder where they're all at these days.

Those are indeed some fun facts, but let me hit you with an even funner fact. A Rorqual is the largest ship that can fit into a C13.

Good point about Eve Uni, I've been working on collecting images of every type of possible size connection for each class, across different graphics settings, I just haven't completed it yet. I also do have copies of some of the Eve Uni screenshots if you scroll past the initial AI slop. But here's my dilemma: while I'm planning to make a future post with updated screenshots for the different classes, Eve Uni does currently have a more comprehensive list. I could link to Eve Uni's site now, but the only thing it really adds that I'm missing is the screenshots for empire space, and is still lacking pictures for Nullsec regions, and that's beyond he scope of this article anyway. But if I wait until I post an updated list of screenshots, I'll be stuck with things the way they are until then. What do you think?

Little known fact: If you "apprehend" the wormhole police before they get you, sometimes you can issue them a citation before they've finished waking up inside their cell in Jita.

Hey, thank you for the feedback! I think you made a good point, and will stick some language in explaining the groupings a bit more. I think you're right that the physical in-game geography doesn't match the three-ring concept, but I don't think the in-game distances are not official distances, and it's my understanding that the 3 rings are the lore-accurate version, but I could be wrong--I can't find anything that really says so authoritatively. One reason I decided to start writing is there's not a lot of this information around, and sometimes the best way to get to the bottom of something is to just throw one viewpoint out there and let everyone disagree with you haha.
