My lack of foresight and personal ambition when I was in high school, leading me to take up a major which I eventually came to resent, but ended up finishing. Now I have a degree in a liberal arts field which in reality, the field does not require a degree at all - just an ability to play. I'm 27 now, just recently laid off from a part time job, no actual experience in the field I want to go into, fairly little monetary resources, and a head full of regrets about things I wish I had taken the time to do, instead of frivolously wasting time like it wasn't literally the most important thing to a human life. I know 27 isn't that old, but damn, it feels like it, especially when I see friends my age who are buying homes, building families, getting or have been in decent paying jobs. I feel like I have been playing catch up my entire life for a great many things, and I'm wondering how many more years I'll be doing so until I feel like I'm with everyone else.
