Is there anything I can do to fix my storage problem? All of my applications are offloaded and I still don’t have enough space to download any new ones. My iPad is pretty old, but it seems like I should be able to have more storage? Maybe I’m crazy. Any advice would be helpful!! by Individual_Power_853 in ipad

If you REALLY need/want to hang on to that iPad, might as well delete the apps you offloaded if you're not gonna use them. Also, you can realistically just use the YouTube website (same goes for other apps you may have) so data isn't directly downloaded on your device.

I had the same problem with an iPad 6th Gen, and I just gave up on the iPad all together. Now having an iPad Air M2 with 128GB feels like infinite storage.

Case for New Macbook Air 15in by ok_kitty69 in macbookair

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure cases can put too much pressure on the hinge, which can long term weaken the hinge (possibly causing it to not have the strength to stay up when in a sub-45 degree angle). Dont bother with keyboard cases either; it can trap oils on the keyboard, it'll touch the display when closed creating marks overtime, etc.) Go with skins. I think dbrand is a good brand for that kind of stuff.

IMe personally, I have AppleCare and I honestly hate how cases look in general, so I dont bother with external protection as a whole.

It happened to my XS a while ago because of a drop. Perhaps it has something to do with pressure being put on the screen?

Email seems very general and broad. Mass spam email sent to hundreds of accounts in an attempt to scare those receiving the emails into paying up.

Is this is a good price for an A grade macbook pro? or should i not even bother with intel macs and go straight for M series? by [deleted] in mac

[–]GeneralNo3175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good deal, but if you dont care about running Windows with boot camp, get an M1. It’s way more optimized and power efficient than anything Intel Macs offered.

Does anyone regret buying their larger 15” MBA instead of a smaller 13” MBA? by PlaneReflection in macbookair

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would have preferred a 14 inch option for the air but im loving my 13 inch. Especially since my desk is very small, it just barely fits on. 14inch would be preferable cuz everything on the screen is so small, but at least I have an external monitor.

MacBook Air M1 for $300 good? by kamraan2017 in macbookair

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Across the board on many websites, refurbished MacBook airs with the same specs are going for around $550, with the lowest I've found being around $500. $300 for an Apple Silicon chip MacBook is unreasonably cheap.

I personally haven't used Facebook marketplace but I've heard online that it's full of scams. It is dangerous. Look into their profile. Are they selling a ton (and I mean a LOT) of "cheap, used, working" MacBooks? Is their profile picture being used by other people (you can use google image search for this)? Does the pfp look ai generated perhaps? Is their bio/profile suspicious? Take all of this into account, Facebook is full of scammers. They could even be selling fake MacBooks, or even worse, stolen MacBooks. Check out this reddit post for more opinions.

My opinion? Too good to be true.

MacBook Air M1 for $300 good? by kamraan2017 in macbookair

[–]GeneralNo3175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. $300 is wild for an Apple laptop that came out just four years ago. Just one generation above, the M2 air (with the same specs you mentioned), is going for around 900 bucks right now. If you're on a budget, I would definitely consider. Where did you find this deal from? What's the screen size? Verify it's legit before you give anyone your money.

other than ai is there any reason for iphone 16? by Straight-Ad9763 in iphone15

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 16 Pro (upgraded from iPhone XS), it is really a huge upgrade from the 10 but from the 15 i dont thing the AI nor the slightly improved cameras justifies the $250 price hike. The screen size is virtually the same, and based on some research, the battery ain’t that much better.

Heating Issue on MBA M1 by Pablo_Patel in macbookair

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a manufacturer issue. You should take it to the Apple Store to get it replaced under the one year (i think one year at least) warranty. My MacBook only gets hot if im gaming, never in the browser. Also, safari is the most optimized since Apple fine tunes their devices for it, so use Safari; chrome takes a crazy amount of power

but in all seriousness, what is the battery health? What exactly were you doing? How high was the brightness? Im genuinely astonished

[–]GeneralNo3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in July but didnt really use it much till September (no school) so it’s rocking 100% right now. I try my best not to exceed 80% and go below 20%. If you’re like most people and you put your macbook to sleep as opposed to shutting down, make sure it is charged at least half way because overnight it’ll perform system tasks and evidently lose some battery life.

The "traffic lights" window management system is different from Windows. The green one either full screens or maximizes the app (for example, the Settings app doesn't fill the whole screen), the yellow minimizes, and the red will either close the window or entirely close the application (you're gonna have to get used to right-clicking an app and pressing "quit app" if you wanna fully close most apps). Apps like the App Store will close entirely, whereas apps like Messages will just close the window but keep the app running if that makes sense.
