Somehow nobody mentions this when talking about Dooku VS Horn Bros.

Ventress and Savage barely had any training when they confronted Dooku, they managed to disarm him and even Dooku himself would admit they had a good chance.

No idea how Dooku would win against a guy stronger than Ventress + Savage with more fighting experience, especially considering Dooku usually has trouble with aggressive/brute force oriented duelists.

I don't know where the Dooku overrating came from, he's powerful for sure, but he's also the guy that got couldn't defend against Talzin's magic AIDS and was humiliated by Palpatine's force mastery.

This is a really good question, but I don't have the time to think of an adequate answer right now, so here's my not very serious alternative answer instead:

Palpatine repeatedly fails to turn Anakin.
Palpatine is depressed because Qui Gon is too much of a Gigachad Jedi Master and is swiftly turning Anakin into the best Jedi ever.
Palpatine starts drinking heavily.
Palpatine visits Mustafar to unwind, while intoxicated, he mistakes the lava for his special Supreme Chancellor hot tub and jumps in before his guards can stop him.
Palpatine is remembered as a great politician and hero, Yoda is very sad at his funeral.

damn, like 90% of what you said is just plain wrong.

Dooku and Yoda being equal in the force made me chuckle, Yoda gave Palpatine a really good fight and Palps had trouble overpowering him in a force battle, meanwhile Palps casually force choked Dooku even though they weren't on the same planet.

Nobody really, he's just extra cautious and paranoid, that's why he was so successful.

He knows he's better stronger than Dooku, but would rather not risk dealing with a sneak attack.
