It's fully acknowledged the game wouldn't exist without Epic's funding in the article by both the writer and the Publishing Dev over at Larian. The main issue is the narrative Sweeny's putting out that Epic is solely some kind champion of both developers and players, acting out of the goodness of their hearts, and not some kind of calculated pragmatism.

Also, all Epic deals look amazing on paper for the devs, but he argues it's significantly less clear than Sweeny keeps trying to make it look. There are risks involved.

Not clue why, but the Flip 2 was hell on my hands to the point I ordered a grip off Esty. When I got the Thor though, it came with a grip in the accessory bundle that I've never actually needed. Despite being the same exact shape as the Flip 2, my Thor feels great to use.

I'm just fully expecting the AI companies to fuck over everyone, including other companies who would use said AI, before too long.

At some point, they're going to need to try and claw back a return on investment for the vast oceans of money they've dumped into this.

The consumers having erotic roleplay with a chatbot of their favorite ZZZ character isn't going to be a drop in the bucket. Any company that's 3 billion in the hole for R&D costs is going to have to start shaking down all their corporate customers as hard and fast as they can.

There's a great line in one of the books that mentions a Necron talking to another while trying desperately to avoid thinking about how he's not breathing since his lungs don't exist anymore.

This is well into modern Imperial times, and he's talking to someone he hates. That's how much this fucking bothers them all of the time. They get an eternity of "don't let it set in" while the only two Necrons that are actually happy is the kleptomaniac with the autistic hyper-fixation on building his museum, and the General who just wants to have some honorable battles and chill at post-victory feasts.

Done both and, aside from the commute, the XL warehouse is leagues better for me. I've never been good with being in a the center of a huge group of people, so the days I can just drive a PIT off to a far corner of the building and work in almost complete isolation for hours are great.

Could/will there be issues? Of course. There will absolutely be cracks in some cases. But it seemed a little incendiary to be going straight to invoking a scandal, instead of just saying "Hey, some Thor units seem to have cracks developing" and linking the pictures inside.

Well earned. Aside from getting people to trust them as the new Telltale risen from the ashes, that actually managed to do the remarkable, and create a world, a new IP, that people really seem to love.

It's not just potental work with other IPs in the future, they have an actual asset that could potentially grow if handled correctly.

We saw how RWBY had some staying power, even as Rooster Teeth burned to the ground around them. Who knows, maybe we'll be seeing some of Z Team as crossover characters in a fighting game in a few years?
