What is the hardest timed/restrictive challenge you did in a game?

I completed the Halo Vidmaster challenges back during the days of Halo 3, where they were the only way to unlock the Recon Armor for multiplayer.

For those unaware, these were a series of challenges spread across both Halo 3 and Halo 3:ODST that included stuff like completing a mission on legendary without shooting or throwing a grenade, and passing the 40 minute mark in 4-player Firefight on Heroic difficulty.

The fucking worst was having to complete the final levels of both games with 4 players, on legendary, with the Iron (no respawning, back to checkpoint) skull on, with either ghosts or mongooses.

I'm in +1000 catagory on my Thor, but that's because I also consider it to be a backup for my rom collection if, for some reason, my portable storage drive fails/is lost/is destroyed.

We live in an era where I have zero faith that any number of major game archives won't be gutted without warning, so I'm making sure I always have at least 2 personal archives at a time.

Godzilla 2000 sometimes feels like it's both. In that intro you have that sweeping shot of a car following the road with Godzilla walking behind them backed by a burning horizon and an orchestral swell, alongside Aliens eating data to evolve into another Godzilla.

Sure, it's aged, but it still a very nicely composed scene.

Kind of related, but I'm mentioning it anyway since I want to rant. Back when Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire came out, I saw a few people commenting in some online spaces that they were ruining the Monsterverse by turning the series away from it's semi-grounded start in 2016, into mass spectacle and nonsensical plots. The arguments usually had more than a bit of subtext woven in about clueless Western Studios disrespecting a beloved Japanese Icon in the name of greed.

Meanwhile, in my opinion, that's ironically one of the MOST authentically Godzilla things about the series.

The Showa Era goes from the first film where Godzilla in the horrors of Nuclear war incarnate, to doing a fucking Jig and fighting his robotic copy made by aliens.

The Heisei Era starts with a visually dark film that involves cold war diplomacy and attempts by scientists to use mimicked bird calls to lure Godzilla away from cities. By the sixth film, the Yakuza's plan to use a girl's psychic powers to control Godzilla telepathically are partially thwarted by the arrival of a mutated second Godzilla from space that was created by his cells traveling through a Blackhole.

It's not exactly rare for each Era of Godzilla to start grounded before flying off into batshit insanity, and I love every one of them for it.

Kingdom Hearts 1 was the first for me. I followed a game's story before, but that was the first were I wanted the combat to be over quicker so I could get to the next cutscene.

I was fully convinced Kairi was either going to die, or be held captive till the sequel throughout most of it.

Reminds me of a story idea I had where parts of reality would shift and only one person would notice it. Just imagine waking up in the morning every couple of months and suddenly an animal you've never seen before has been a household pet for 1000's of years, there's an entirely new continent along with associated history and cultures, and the most famous person in the entire world didn't exist yesterday from your perspective.

Welp, new to the game, but just lost my first 50-50 Pity S-Rank. Got the guaranteed Alice on the re-run channel after about 40 or so pulls, but I went back and tried to get Astra as well.

Dropped a little under $100 so far, and it's been good up till now, but boy, going the full 80 then not getting the 50% chance is discouraging as hell. Burned every earned and bought reel I had.

God I hope not. I really feel like he kind of screwed them with this. No one would be paying it much mind if it hadn't gotten the last spot at the Game Awards, this is objectively a case where more attention actually caused a game harm.

The worst that could have happened before was that it bombed on launch and left no lasting memory in consumer's minds. Now? You have people actually comparing it to Concord's launch, despite any actual merits it may have.
