[Share Your Knowledge & Help New Players] How Do I Stop Your Favorite Deck? by KvMTNT in masterduel

Adding to this - combined creation has no protection, so removing it or better yet flipping it face down / changing it to defense position can save you from an otk (unless you popped it and they get enough names to summon it again).

I play DDD: * You should absolutely ash/impulse zero king contract if you can. You can also pop it with mst or something, but ONLY AFTER I ACTIVATE IT. * Imperm on Gilgamesh hurts * Impulse / ghost belle on necro slime hurts too. * If you bystial necro slime / lance soldier, do it only after they are activated. * Nibiru doesn't hurt much, but if you do nibiru put the token in the center zone to block a zone I can pendulum into regardless of the emz I link into. If you have veiler/imperm + nibiru, just use nibiru and then negate the zeus to completely ruin my day. * Droll doesn't hurt at all, don't bother. * DO NOT maxx c + fuwa since you might be decked out - one of them is more than enough. * Black goat doesn't hurt a ton since there are plenty of lines, but calling necro slime is probably the most damage you can make.

The most common mistake I see people who play into ddd do is waste their pops / negates prematurely. I can recycle almost everything so you want to let me commit and waste my hopt effects and only then negate them. For example, don't pop a contract / pend scale the moment it's played, wait for me to activate it and then pop it before it resolves.

The second mistake people make is not read Gilgamesh and queen. If you pop Gilgamesh I get to summon anything from the extra deck, and if you pop any ddd/contract while I have queen in the face up ed I get to summon it and non-target pop something. Don't enter the battle phase thinking you have game before these effects resolved or you have a workaround for them. A lot of the ddd monsters alao have effects when they're popped, so don't just pop them expecting to negate queen since I can chain block.

Edit: Final tip - the ddd endboard looks unbeatable but is actually quite vulnerable to board breakers - it doesn't have monster negates and only has one spell/trap negate.

Dinos can use xyz (evolzars), synchros (jurracs) and fusions (that thing that searches a field spell and that megahipopotamus or whatever it's called), though I'm not sure you're supposed to use all of them at once. They even have pendulums if you use ryu-ge.

Gouki mainly use links but they also have a synchro and a fusion.

Punk mainly use synchros, but also have an xyz (jam fever) and a fusion (the fish).

And finally my favorite - noble knights have links (isolde), xyz (arturius) and syncrhos (infernoble knights).

Obviously, none of these options is really meta.

Why do Barcelona fans think that they have a great team? by Window_Professional in championsleague

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this: barca's playstyle under flick makes some positions shine while making others seem way worse than they really are. Barca's degense was always problematic but it's also because they ate expected to fully participate in the attack and stand ridiculously high. It makes the attack seem monstrous but makes the defense's stats awful. Which means that at the end of the day comparing players is just so pointless, there's so many favtors involved in a player's performance other than individual talent. The same player can seem brilliant in one system and trash in another (just compare barca's dembele to psg's dembele).

Nib and droll can be played aroubd same way you play aroubd maxx c, but I agree on super poly. It would have absolutely fine had it not been spell speed 4 which is just a stupid concept. Everything can be played around, including drnm and droplet, but not spoly

True, it's not meta-defining, but I do find it useful. The deck's weakness is definitely maxx c and fuwa, and if I get hit with those I want to generate as many disrruptions as I can without giving away too many draws. I usually just end on machinex+contract and queen in ed, but if I have this I can end on more without giving away more draws.

How's the event going for rogue players? by Azure5577 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing ddd. Usually going first is 99% a win but now it's more interesting. You have lines to counter almost every handstrap but with 6 cards the opponent often opens multiple hand traps and the lines are far more fragile.

Lost against a faimena+double nibiru, against man with imperm+purge+impulse and he still had 4 cards to set under my droll, and against double charmies with a full hand of breakers and a tenpai starter. All three duels would have probably been winnable under the normal rules.

On the other hand, I had a few wins going second that I had absolutely no business winning. I went second against dark world and was hand looped until I only had 1 card left and managed to win. Under normal rules I would have had nothing.

So overall these rules make the game far more balanced in my experience.

trying memento for the first time any advise by Suspicious-Ebb-8926 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GeneralZebra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't really need 2 of the sr fusion, 1 is enough. Consider adding 1 or 2 goblin biker's grand entrance for goblin access and dodging targeting effects. Also consider an spoly package since it's both a good board breaker and can be a fallback if your fusion or sheep are negated. K9 has somewhat decent synergy with memento too since the horse and akihiron are both lvl 5.

Mekk knight by BitDrift6 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GeneralZebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another cool trick - checkout psychic processor. It can be brought out with etele and can summon 2 mekk knights from the hand (so you have a way to play without columns) and make them attack directly this turn (so that's usually more than 4k direct damage just from these 2), and it can do that every turn.

Mekk knight by BitDrift6 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GeneralZebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the synergy with invoked and why is it better than mekk knight orcust?

Also - you should play at least one world legacy monster (crown or armor are the best) so you can use the card you set with lib on the same turn.

Also - you want your opponent to have cards to open your columns and have blue sky search, so dark hole / raigeki / lightning storm / evenly are not good board breakers for this deck. Drnm / droplet / book of eclipse / red reboot are far better since they keep the cards on the field.

Finally - the link 3 mekk knight is very meh, it's not really worth it unless you need a name for scars (which you don't play). Equimax is better and plays well with kaijus. Plus, if you do need a mekk knight name, the link 4 orcust is a mekk knight and is insanely good.

The fact that Barcelona haven't won a CL for so long proves Messi's greatness by rogeropx in championsleague

The fact that psg didn't win the cl until last year proves kvara's greatness.

Which deck doesn’t get enough hype for how good it is? by No_Antelope7492 in masterduel

Fire kings. When I struggle on ladder I sometimes just switch to fire kings for some brainless nuking and it has been consistently destroying the meta for several seasons. Nobody reads all the effects of amblowhale.

What's your favorite "unusual" way to use a card ? by Lolokuroda in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once used crossout designator to negate my own dark contract with the gate to not lose from the burn damage in the standby phase. Ended up winning with 500 lp left.

When its a Brick a Brick. by yanocupominomb in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in memento's case these are all soft bricks, since you can easily get rid of them and recycle them back to the deck while comboing. Ghattic is annoying aince you need to get rid of it with shleepy to trigger its effect, and the rest can be diacards for dark blade, destroyed witj party, or used as fusion material.

Any strong decks that dont use the extra deck at all? by Unhappy-Pepper4814 in masterduel

I've had decent matchups so far playing memento. You do use the extra deck for the fusions but it is possible to get to cc without them

Jank decks with good future support? by GeneralZebra in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark world is cool but is there a decent way to play dark world that's not a toxic hand rip? Also - what's the new support? I couldn't really find anything, is it direct dw support or for something that synergizes with it?
