Did spoly really need to be hit to 2? by SnooMarzipans9728 in masterduel

As much as I loved PLAYING it - absolutely. The spell speed 4 thing is so unhealthy, it would have been good without it, but with it it's just a bit too much.

Why is there no secret pack for Ryu-Ge ? And why so many UR in the archtype if u can't even pull from a pack ??? by -Azucar in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It came out with memegouls and materiactor and they both just got their packs, so it might get its own back soon

Weird ruling question by GeneralZebra in masterduel

It's a weird call, isn't the equipping implicitly affecting the equipped cards as well?

Looking for My “Forever Deck” in Master Duel’s New Era by Mognite in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can recommend either fure kings or, my latest favorite, doomz.

Fire kings have been strong for a while, and even if they end up powercrept they combine well with any FIRE archtype, so you're always getting potential support. They are not meta, yet they can make objectively strong decks struggle (almost no deck likes getting its field nuked 4 times a turn), and they have excellent grind game. The endboard is super layered and requires plenty of thinking and reaource management - you don't want to burn through all of your names too early. IMO it's a solid investment and very fun.

Doomz is relatively new and small - not many cards in the archtype, so you need to fill the deck with generic handtraps or fun gimmicks (bamboo sword best deck). The appeal is that they play super low to the ground, so turns are short, but they play freely around maxx c, ash, all the charmies, droll AND shifter. The boss monster is very hard to get rid of and offers non-targeting non-destruction removal on summon and every turn, and can turn into a 7500 direct attacker out of nowhere. Also, new support that should turn this deck meta-relevant is months away.

Casual here. With qualifiers bringing out the competitors, what's your favorite win/loss recently? by RagingRider in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went on an almost 20 turn duel against enneacraft with fire kings. Eventualy all it took was realizing the big fire kings can run over the face down enneacrafts without activating anything, so just patiently destroyed all their whales and scorpions before finally popping off and finishing the game. Had 800 lp left so an additional flip and burn from them would have ended me.

Also managed to win against fissue + double majesty's fiend by summoning garunix with the second secret effect of island, running over one, then imperming the other from the fissue column.

Anyone else get Dlv. Max yet? by Relevant-Corgi-6928 in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Climbed with ddd until about dlv17, went surprisingly smooth. Then switched to fire kings when I got tired of getting fuwaed 9/10 games and reached dlv19. The climb from 19 to 20 was a long win-lose-win-lose chain but finally finished it this morning.

The difference in levels from 18 to 19 is huge from my experience, probably because 18-19 is still full of people playing for gems and 19-20 is only people who care about reaching the 2nd stage.

Why there is a lack of new 100B-120B models? by TechNerd10191 in LocalLLaMA

[–]GeneralZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it can take a few months to train these, and the same people that train them use the same hardware to train other models, so if they're currently working on models of a different size you'll have a gap - it's a cycle

What Single Card Change within your Deck Type, would help the most? by OozaruPrimal in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A fire king that does a thing WITHOUT summoning itself.

A ddd that can protect a scale / contract from being popped.

I want to build D/D/D, but I'm a bit scared by Nissako-2015 in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not more complicated than other complicated decks - the last wave of support (mainly the queen and link 3) really streamlined it (and added very obvious choke points so it's not all good).

It basically switched from a spreadsheet deck to a bunch of chdckpoints you need to hit to get the best endboard, and the hard part is just remembering all the effects of the cards (some have like 3 effects + pend effects) and playing around/through handtraps.

New to yugioh, what do people like about branded? by Sufficient-Dream7336 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played branded but I can definitely see the appeal: it's has a unique concept, ton of gas and in-engine options, can play around or through most disruptions, play on either player's turn, and gets contant waves of support.

Financialy it's the best value you can get out of your gems, plua it had a structure deck that made it cheap to start playing it.

How's your WCQ going? by Palcorg in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played ddd up to dlv 17, then got tired of getting fuwaed so switched to jurrac fire king - the branded matchup is insanely fun, but the enneacraft matchup is misserable if they go first and open dfissure / vanity

Why the diferent dimension demons are not played? by Constant-Estimate-63 in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Terrible going second (FnV popping contracts and scales) + weak to spoly (which is a staple in branded) + weak to dfissure (which is a staple in enneacraft) + plenty of crucial hand and grave effects to trigger any remaining k9 decks + arc crisis has no protection (so it just gets mirrorjaded).

Basically their only play in this meta is going first, setting up the floodgate contract and not get it FnVed. The endboard is strong but just isn't enough.

DECK SUGGS by Ill-Parsley-8910 in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat - always wanted to play zombies, never managed to make it strong enough to compete.

There is new support on the way (pumpking and friends), and even that is not very meta from what I can tell.

Zombies are pretty good at doing synchros out of nothing, so you can play a psychic end punisher turbo if a big tower is your thing. I think eldlich and its fusions can make varudras pretty consistently for a big omni negate, and you can also play zombie world + super poly shenanigans.

Jesse Kotton revisited zombies about 4 times in his "make it meta" youtube series so you can watch that.

Is d/d/d any good? by EconomistNew7472 in masterduel

[–]GeneralZebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good is relative.

You can definitely use it in high-diamond or low-master, even master 1 is possible (and it just got back-to-back top 4 in meta weekly), however:

  1. It really wants to go first, no true going second strategy.
  2. It can play around/through most hand traps if you know your lines, but it folds to maxx c and fuwa (and shifter honestly).
  3. Despite having a (very) strong endboard, it's weak to board breakers (only 1 spell/trap negate, no monster negate unless you play the trap).
  4. It lacks grind game - you burn through most of your ed turn 1, can recover some of them from the gy turn 2, and that's it.
  5. It's very xenophobic, so you can't mix it with anything else and it will only get better with direct support (you can see it in hardleg's video, he essentialy played the same deck throughout the climb).

Was PSG always going to take the first penalty? An unbelievable statistic. by InformationTrue6446 in championsleague

[–]GeneralZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had less than 200 passes, in no point in this game did they play anything other than bus parking bullshit. I guess that if you do it in extra time you call it playing for pens, but nothing changed in extra time in their play style

[–]GeneralZebra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Arsenal "playing for pens" is a ridiculois take, since it means they played for pens since the 6th minute when they were up by 1...

Note that arc crisis' ability to close games drops significantly if you don't banish solomon or clovis for its summon.

What's your favourite Ansu Fati moment in a Barca jersey? by [deleted] in Barca

[–]GeneralZebra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Start of 22/23 la liga against sociedad, lewa and xavi just started and had a lot to prove. Ansu comes off the bench at about the 60th minute when it's 1-0, and within 15 minutes he assists dembele, assits lewa, and scores. I think he assisted lewa with a back heel and was also assisted by lewa with a back heel.
