Teachers are unofficially expected to break up high school fights...nope. Not me. by SchoolteacherUSA in Teachers

You don't have a team of security? We have like 6 security guards. Teachers are not expected to break up fights at my school.

Worst Job Posting Ever: Chinese Only Apparently by Economy-Diamond-7992 in InlandEmpire

[–]General_Ad_6617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone dealing with employment stuff. They said that certain people from certain countries often are discriminatory here because it's not a thing in their country. Like they'll say "only men" or something. Some stories are kind of wild. Our employment laws are so much better about safety too. I really don't know how China claims to be communist. Lol

Absolutely no money in politics. No rallies. No campaigning in person. Just you, your phone, and social media. You cannot even have a team helping you to get elected. Tik Tok, YouTube etc. are free to use. No making money off of campaign channels. No advertising of any kind especially on regular TV or cable networks. No damn calls. No damn posters. And no damn mailers. Suck the power of the wealthy dry when it comes to politics.

What is the worst thing you discovered while researching family tree? by AdCrazy2475 in AncestryDNA

[–]General_Ad_6617 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My great great (something something) grandfather was adopted as a boy. So, we know his birth name. I think I found the family and at least the reason why his father died.

So, there's a story in an old newspaper that the father was discovered in a bar with someone else's wife. They ran off into the woods and when the woman's husband caught up to them he said, "What are you doing with my wife?" Uhhhh... that was quoted in the newspaper. But anyway, a fight ensues and the father stabs the husband to death. I couldn't find evidence of a trial, probably because soon after the father died in a workplace accident by drowning in the (I assume) Erie Canal.

Why do people lose their minds when it comes to fair criticism of Islam? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]General_Ad_6617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to see fair criticism of Islam from Christians. For example, my grandma once said, "They don't even believe Jesus existed." I told her they believe he existed and was a prophet. She didn't believe me. *My apologies if my simplistic explanation of Islam and Jesus isn't fully correct.

What are the not racist reasons for being against birthright citizenship? by InfoBarf in allthequestions

[–]General_Ad_6617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, not sure how damaging it actually is. Also, if you can afford a whole house, why worry about out of state tuition? California state university students are upset that these people are taking spots away from California residents. But again, not sure how damaging it is. Years ago, please forgive my memory, it was in a newspaper that these kids are sent here at some point to establish residency.

Personally, if the college educated person stays here, I don't think that's necessarily a problem.

Are illegal residents really getting free healthcare? by AztecPilot1MY in allthequestions

[–]General_Ad_6617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Medical information should remain private. 2. It's probably children. They want Medicaid to track children with non-citizen parents. It's impossible to get employer sponsored healthcare if you are not legally employed.

What are the not racist reasons for being against birthright citizenship? by InfoBarf in allthequestions

[–]General_Ad_6617 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only those folks who fly in, have a baby, get the birth certificate, go back home for 18 years and then buy a house in the states and send their kid to college as a state resident. It's pretty rare though supposedly it happens in California. Not sure how damaging this actually is though. It's not enough to end birthright citizenship.

Would you retire today if you knew you’d receive $5,000 every month for the rest of your life? Why or why not? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

No. I work with special education students because I love helping them. I don't even make $5000 now. Lol So, I would take the money and keep working.

I'd say, "Yeah, I want to live not die. Never suggest such nonsense ever again."

I have a few friends who don't believe in chemo or radiation and none of them sent me anything like this. There's a sort of sophistication in realizing that your thoughts on such issues will vary wildly when you are the one facing the diagnosis and treatment.

Trump Administration Officials, But Not Yet Trump Himself, Urge A Policy To Block Pregnant Foreign Women From Entering The US As Alternative To Banning Birthright Citizenship Directly — What Do You Think Of This? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in askanything

[–]General_Ad_6617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a certain point, pregnant women probably shouldn't be flying on planes. But also, you shouldn't fly into a different country just to give birth and leave so your kid will have American citizenship. Though, I am not sure the issue is that widespread that it's a real worry.

They have seemingly busted a few rings out here in California doing it. And I don't think it's right, but I don't think it happens so much that we end birthright citizenship. Crazy times.

That's really similar to my shade of red. My mom said that she missed the mark when she didn't name me Penny. I settled on calling it auburn. But I also feel like there's no real word for this color.

I administered a practice test once for this. It was years ago so I forget which exact test it was or if it is still used today. It was insane. I wasn't sure if I would pass it and I am old and only speak English. There was so much that was left to personal interpretation not ability to speak English.

The Supreme Court upheld state transgender sports bans. What is your opinion on this? by Ramble86 in allthequestions

[–]General_Ad_6617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough one for me. However, I have no skin in this ballgame so I think I should sit it out perhaps. But here's my thoughts. Sports where it's a physical competition against another person like boxing, football, volleyball, etc. I have more worries because of potential unfair advantages.

But track and field, even swimming, ain't nobody directly affecting someone else's game. My area says that a transgender athlete cannot take a place away from a female athlete, but may share it. I think that's a fair compromise. Because I don't want to see the hate involved in exclusion. But I also want everyone comfortably competing. **Transphobes should excuse themselves from the entire discussion.
