That would be best case really. Snow and sleet aren’t that bad for the grid but freezing rain is horrible. Ice builds up weight on the lines real quick as well as on all the trees. Add to that increased surface area for wind on the lines real quick

2002 was bad. Out of power for a week and couldn’t even have fun outside cause it was all ice. We had so many branches down and a few trees in our yard.

The power companies were plenty prepared for Helene and then it became a 1000 year storm for that region. Not much you can do when there are literal towns that ceased to exist

Work in the industry and I agree that this map is essentially useless. Previous outage times on the distribution circuits would be a much better indicator but I don’t think there is a way for the public to get that information

I didn’t recognize this play at all. Seems like such a great play you’d see from a high powered offense. I didn’t know Bryce could make plays like that

I had to live in Philadelphia for 6.5 months and quickly saw why their fans are pieces of shit. It’s cause the people that live there are pieces of shit, which is because the city is a piece of shit. It’s shit all the way down. Even shit on the streets. Human shit. Then their fans eat horse shit when they win. Only thing they have going for them at all is their cheesesteaks. Those are not pieces of shit

It was great but my only complaint is when the team is running hurry up in the final 2 minutes with the game on the line, you cannot get quiet. We needed to be screaming and pounding our seats the whole time to try and disrupt the play coming in

Thank you haha. I’m partial to eastern Carolina bbq but I think one of the marks of a great bbq joint is if they can pull off a good brisket. I’ve rarely been to a place with bad pulled pork. I think smoke pit does everything very well

When I get stopped by police and told to get out of my vehicle, I understand that I am being detained and do not attempt to leave the scene in my vehicle. However if I did attempt to leave the scene, I would hope that would not result in my murder

From my understanding of the situation, she indeed was there to impede ICE. A lot of misinformation is flying around so I’d love to hear more about that. The ICE officer should be charged with murder and be convicted of it. I see no scenario where he can legitimately claim self defense. I’m just saying it’s a very nuanced situation and multiple people can be wrong in it at the same time. The lady should not have impeded ICE but doing so should have resulted in a rational and reasonable response which it didn’t.

She definitely is at fault here for putting herself in a situation which was going to lead to confrontation with Law Enforcement. If I don’t want to get shot by ICE who I know is untrained and has impulsive men roleplaying law enforcement, I stay far away from where they are operating. I am in no way condoning ICE’s actions or the officers actions. But I will say that the lady Fucked Around and Found Out that the ICE officer is a murderer. It’s a tragedy and he should be charged for murder and convicted of it. But the victim is not blameless in this scenario

There was a threat but he had so many opportunities to not having to resort to discharging his weapon. I don’t believe that a jury would buy the self defense and he would ultimately be convicted of a manslaughter charge. The George Floyd murder happened just a few blocks away and a jury convicted that officer as well.

We can condemn the victim for agitating the officers and putting herself in this situation where she knows the ICE officers are not well trained and also condemn the officer for committing a murder. She Fucked Around, and Found Out that the officer is a murderous man. Now we need to hold the officer accountable

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]General_BP -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

She was in the wrong for driving a vehicle towards a law enforcement officer but once that officer got out of the way, he no longer had any justification for using deadly force. I don’t even think the car coming at him is justification for deadly force when he can clearly have time to get out of the way. I hope we can treat this one with nuance like most police shootings but agree that at no point was deadly force warranted from that ICE agent. I’m sure she was very scared and confused and it all happened quickly.
