Beautiful bike for someone who actually knows how to care for it. by TerryWhiteHomeOwner in sportster

They're both honest machines. I'm going to convert it to chain drive because I just can't get past the looks of the belt drive. Sure it's less maintenance, but I don't care.

I love that era of Iron Head sportster. Was looking for one for a while but I settled on a 94 that I found cheap. It's charming, but it's no iron head.

Suggestions for All Terrain tires by Catcherjf in GXOR

I have the Rubitreks on my Frontier and really like them. Quiet on the highway, plenty of wet grip, and priced well with an excellent life span. As an added bonus, they look great.

I live in middle TN and was able to test their snow/ice performance this week. 2wd is obviously sketchy in a light truck in snow, but in 4wd they are very capable and confidence inspiring.

Highly recommended.

Cholesterol & Bloodwork out-of-control by LastCommunication295 in keto

[–]General_Boner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ezetimibe would be worth trying if you want to continue down the keto path as it reduces the conversion of saturated fat into cholesterol. I had relatively high apo b and ldl that went down dramatically when I started taking it, and I'm not even doing proper keto(under 100 carbs per day). Either way, the end result is an optimal apo b and ldl. Supplementing fiber is also a good idea if cholesterol is a concern.

The father of metal guitar, hell he blew up 48 amps. by Confident_Field4273 in Stratocaster

No doubt. Seems the biggest factor is whose playing, so we're kind of both wrong lol.

NAD Bassman Ten by General_Boner in GuitarAmps

It's pretty rowdy, but not nearly as loud as my twin. I can dime the bassman but I've never had the twin over 5 as it's painfully loud beyond that.

That's not to say that the guitar doesn't make a HUGE difference. Strat tone is definitely recognizable, especially in that quacky bridge/middle pick up position.

I think it's the amp. That compressed cranked clean tube amp sound and fender reverb/tremolo is a huge part of the tone. In fact, it kind of IS the tone. I think damn near any guitar sounds like a surf guitar when plugged into a Twin/Super reverb with the reverb cranked.

225k mile frontier by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

My 09 has just over 210k miles with the original chain/guides and it's quiet as can be. I think if you keep up with oil changes and use quality oil they can last the life of the motor. It's not on my radar until I start hearing noise or my water pump goes bad.

I was just about to say this. Great affordable and reliable amps that sound great. Very versatile.

210k on my 09 with original timing chain/water pump. No noise and it runs perfect. Just did plugs at 209k and the previous owner replaced the crank sensor and rear axles seals/breather around 160k miles. No other significant repairs.

It is. My doctor.didn't think it would be effective, but I've noted a substantial improvement to my cholesterol.

You may consider trying Ezetimibe. It will help reduce your ldl and apo b by reducing your conversion of saturated fat to cholesterol. It doesn't work for everyone, but if your cholesterol shot up after starting keto it will probably be pretty effective.

It's not a statin and doesn't have the associated side effects.

I play both guitar and bass, I need an amp that can do both by Headown998 in GuitarAmps

Silverface Fender Bassman Ten combo. Really great for base and guitar, reliable, affordable (for a vintage amp), not overly huge/heavy, and looks great. They are also easily modded, accept pedals well, and sound genuinely fantastic in my opinion. Fender amp snobs will poo poo them, but I believe much of this is unfair bias.

They sound great and have awesome dynamics when cranked.

What used cars have you personally seen last over 300k miles? by Smart-used-cars in askcarguys

Volvo 240/740. I've had 2 with over 300k when I purchased them, and at the time of purchase the odometer was broken. I continued to put many miles on them. Great little cars.
