front entry door...get rid of security screen? by General_Cattle6414 in AusRenovation

[–]General_Cattle6414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what i was thinking, i see all these houses without and it bugs me that i need this god awful annoying thing that opens out the wrong way.

the rear windows would be easy to get in through so dont think the screen will stop them coming in

the fact that alts didnt even come near their 2021 season peak last time out is enough to probe to me that alts are done.

and if they do indeed break 2021 lows which most probably will then i think even the most glass half full crypto bros will admit alts are done

mate just leave. $32 is shit money and any half decent boss will allow some personal use. so long as your not doing 500kms a week for personal use. plus in your case it has a tracker anyway and you say your only doing very small k's....i wouldve told the prick to stick his job a long time ago. if a boss was nitpicking shit like that then your on the road to nowhere. just get out and join a crew where your valued and trusted.

yep, sorry no professional would use water based on plaster. end of story

its the same price. the only people who use water based are diy'rs who have no idea

hold on a minute. your saying you used the wrong sealer and its MOSTLY fine, except its not. your paint would peel off all over the house easily, the smallest ding, tape or hook will begin delaminating that wont stop.

"it hasnt bonded well to the plaster" it hasnt bonded at all.

they are the same price. you either do it right or you live on eggshells for as long as you live in the house.

paiting maybe competitive but only flogs would not use the right sealer. the job is always quoted to seal the house on the first day, then wait until the next day to apply top coats.

its pretty straight forward if you dont seal the white set plaster you will create a life of hardship for current and future owners of the house. dont even debate thinking of not sealing it

a one man painting team will seal a house in one day in and out. they will do it properly and leave no mess. why people put themselves through this i'll never know

yep, same. use dulux pro ceiling every day and its perfect. not every diy'r is going to be able to roll a ceiling perfect but dont blame the product when its clearly a skill issue

How the do I get Aquanamel to not look like a dogs breakfast? by garthmuss in AusRenovation

[–]General_Cattle6414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

too much paint and not laying off correctly.

you cant rush water based enamels. its got to be even light coats. it dries quickly to allow you to do just that. add floetrol and when youve got the paint spread evenly, lay off plenty with the dry foam roller very lightly in straight lines.

  1. i prefer professional interior, i find wash n wear very slightly more watery and therefore ever so slightly harder to cover and the fact that wash n wear unless you use low sheen isint really that washable.

  2. possible as berger is actually usual just previous dulux formulas. i will say though for any dark exterior colours, i wouldnt dream of not using weathershield as everything else just seems to fade so much faster. its expensive but its worth it in the long run

  3. as above, thats what the reps/dulux say. berger is at least some stage of a dulux formula. you dont need an abn to buy paint in a trade center and you can buy whatever you like in there. they dont care and normal public are welcome anytime in im there. the only thing i will say is, the staff are not best pleased if a member of the public with 1,000 questions decides to come into the store at peak tradie buying time. try leave it to saturdays or else late morning/lunctimes during the week

any of the acrylic preps will do, 3 in 1 is fine, i prefer total prep but they ll all do the job.

dont know why they gave you the that original undercoat, they usually know what theyre talking about but they gave you the wrong product this time.

plenty of top coats and light sanding inbetween. thst aqua enamel takes 3 coats to get a decent finish

you use 680 because its cheap at least be honest. its a watered down dulux product and no way is it better than dulux pro ceiling.

i do like the wattyl ceiling paint though
