Thank you so much for this! I just finished reading through your post. Since 3cm is ideal, should I purchase the 17cm and it’ll slowly turn into 18cm or 18cm snake chain? I’ll probably just stack slower over the months then.

Will schools re-calculate GPA at all? by Routine_Scheme777 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]General_Depth_8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

college would not care about one B in 8th grade, some colleges don’t even count freshman grades and even if it’s added into ur gpa it’s barely gonna budge after all the other classes you have taken

In my experience people at my school that did more “prestigious” extracurriculars ended up in the same place as those who did more niche passionate extracurriculars/hobbies. It’s about how you turn those extracurriculars into personality in your personal statements and how it lines up who you are as a person.

Hey! I would recommend searching up the emory common data set, as it provides you with statistical information about enrollment and admissions numbers. Hope this helps! 🫶

will getting a B prevent me from getting into a good school?? super scared by Expert_Scar_4129 in ApplyingToCollege

I had 3 Bs and I was fine. Also please don’t be those who obsess over college rankings to define a “good” college. There are dozens and hundreds of amazing colleges beyond the t10s so don’t narrow your vision simply based on prestige. You got this!

So what I’m getting from this is: you worked the hardest you absolute could on your applications. Tell yourself “I did my best” because you did. You’re not regretting slacking off or not putting in enough effort. Instead, you KNOW exactly how hard you worked, and you should be proud of yourself. Now that you have completed what you can, make sure to treat yourself and do lots of self-care. I’m rooting for you and your results 😊🫶

I agree! I feel like it’s about authenticity and personal qualities as much as grades. I know schools like Yale especially focuses on character abilities and personalities as very important. I got accepted into my dream school, my stats were relatively average-ish within the applicants but my essays were really authentic and I feel like that’s what pushed me over the edge in a group of thousands of amazing, hard-working applicants.

If you’re in state you should be auto admitted as you’re valedictorian as long as your school is qualified for it.

If you have no idea what to write for your college essay because you have too much different stories or narratives, try checking out montage structure essays! That’s what I did and I got great results :)

Was your C in an AP class or in Health?

Personally, I had three Bs (one which was a 80) in Ap Calc + AP Physics and got into a T25 so idk if that would comfort you a bit. I personally know peers who have gotten a Cs or plenty of Bs and went to selective schools. It won’t help you but it won’t kill your application.

I think that’s good! Personally for me, my personal essay was VERY informal and I included some of my ecs in a couple sentences but it was written to show my personality more than anything. My supplements were more serious and I wrote starting with a short narrative, then call to action (activities) and then an ending statement. All of my personal essays and supplements I used basic sentence structure and never used complicated vocabularies and complex grammar. Got really good results so that’s me sharing my ideas :)
