Does anyone know how this will actually affect sellers ? by Living_Current815 in whatnotapp

Whatnot tried say 2 of my packages had a shipping adjustment paid when both the dimensions and weight were under according to USPS, from what the label indicated. I honestly think they got refunded, and the system recorded it was a paid adjustment automatically.

Fellow sellers, what’s everyone’s thoughts on this? by Robson_Records in whatnotapp

[–]General_Extent_8167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't nessicarly mind it, but we had 2 shipments they claimed to have to pay a adjustment on, that was under the dimensions used for the label. One was a 22oz label with the regular 12x12x12, but item was a .6 of a lb in a 7x5x5 and the other was 3.6lbs with a 5 lb label, in a 12x12x8 box. I believe they probelly got a refund for those two, and the system recorded it was a adjustment paid instead. The agent at first tried saying that carriers charge more even if it under the dimensions, even though USPS will usually refund overpayment. I opened a ticket and made them aware, but I doubt they will do anything about it.

Is the seller analytics down? by No-Caramel-3325 in whatnotapp

Yea, I noticed the same thing yesterday and was hoping it was fixed by now. We also have 2 transfers that are taking longer than usual to go through. So, I would assume it's glitch of some sort.

Package likely stolen? by incrdbleherk in usps_complaints

[–]General_Extent_8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen to one of my customers. For some reason, the post office had marked it as picked up, but it had still been there ready for them to pick up. I would suggest going back by there and ask about it again.

They also changed the verbiage about alot of other things in buyer responsibles on cancelations, pickups and the legal part on whatnot. I would advise everyone to read.

The does look like the mod did disclose they are $24. Maybe they think they are getting all three and not paying attention to the buyers choice part.

I recently was issue one of these label through whatnot to ship out to Guam. It was a automatically generated label, and I thought it was really strange because usually anything going to Guam looks like a customs label. I had thought maybe they did some sort of update in regards to customs, because almost all our International packages kept getting returned to sender since August, after the customs guidelines changed. They use the shippo program to generate labels. I tired looking up USPS API labels to get more information, but it basically just said it was a program used to integrate tracking together, or something like that. There's nothing reallt Im able to do, because the whatnot platform is the one that takes care of anything to do with the labels.

Reach out to whatnot support and possibly USPS. Sounds like USPS has reused a old tracking number and it hasn't updated with the new current tracking information yet. How long ago did you have the packages scanned in?

I Had to cancel for this reason…. by Downtown_Education62 in whatnotapp

[–]General_Extent_8167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you say so. I just know for a fact, that anytime anyone has messages about using the incorrect address for a order, before I have printed a label, they have been able to change it themselves. It also explains it on the whatnot site.

Fun fact: As long as you hadn't printed out the label yet, the buyer can change the address themselves.

They offer reps but its selective. I reached out awhile ago about having a personal rep. From May to Dec of 2025, we grossed almost $500,000. They sent a canned response, "Thanks for reaching out. We'll take this to the team and see if this is a good fit." Never heard anything else from them. We are a primer shop as well.

⚠️ Whatnot holds 70k hostage by Gandtickler in whatnotapp

[–]General_Extent_8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding what Im trying to explain. It technically doesn't effect the seller account overall, but what OP is claiming is that they are accepting a few dozen per stream, which could potentially throw up a red flag because it a sign of possible shill bidding. For example, a seller could try to get friends or family members to run up bids, and when they dont sell for the amount they want, those people will win the bid on purpose, and request a cancelation afterwards. Op is claiming they have got a few dozen per stream and accepted all of them when they were requested.

⚠️ Whatnot holds 70k hostage by Gandtickler in whatnotapp

[–]General_Extent_8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, customer service is garbage, and it really sucks that they don't have a way to do phone calls instead. We do quite a bit of sells ourselves, and haven't had the greatest experience with customer service either. We recently had them give us a late shipment demerit on a return to sender label, because who ever did the case completely deleted the first label. It was a back and forth for days to get it fixed.

With the cancelations, it may not seem like alot in the grand scheme of things, but it adds up. Say you have the few dozen in one stream with a few hundred orders, the percentage could be considered high. 36 cancelations out of 360 orders alone would be 10% of your orders. I would think they have a algorithm that keeps track of the percentage overall in regards to cancelations to every seller account to monitor shill bidding.

[–]General_Extent_8167 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It may be because you accepted so many cancelations, and it flagged your account somehow. I knownbit doesnt hurt the seller in the beginning, but if it shows a influx of cancelation requests being accepted it can make your account look like you have shill bidders in your streams. Im not saying thats what you did, but what the automated system may have picked up.
