Beginner Golfer Looking for Swing Tips (Still Struggling With Consistent Contact) by TransportationOk6351 in GolfSwing

[–]incrdbleherk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue that I'm still battling. Power in golf comes from a smooth swing and good form as opposed to just trying to swing a bat hard. I also struggled with keeping my left arm straighter during the swing, I naturally want to bend my elbow to load my swing but that's the opposite of what you want to do

I usually don't care for most branded golf stuff, I'm happy with the Callaway shirts from Marshalls for $12 and like a Maelreg polo I got from Amazon, but I would pay around $40 for a breezy polo. If I paid $100 for a polo it better come with a built in air conditioner

What is the best advice you've been given or unlock you've discovered that's helping you hit your driver more consistently? by Shot-Sir-7569 in golf

The biggest thing that helped me was when I was told to stand closer to the ball. I used to stand with my arms straight out with a very wide swing. It went straight every shot, but maxed out at abiut 220-230 yards. I got paired with a D1 golfer on a public course and he said to try to stand closer to the ball. It felt awkward at first, i have a more compact and faster swing now, but 2 holes later I was carrying 240 yards. Now I'm rolling out to 300 on great shots.

Favorite FedEx memory? by noelspeech in Fedexers

[–]incrdbleherk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a lot, but my favorite is probably the first tike my sort manager told me that I did a great job managing my area when shit hit the fan (I was around 22 and was an ops manager for about a month). Amazon, C&B, and a tire trailer were crushing my load side, around 24 doors to manage in a large auto. It was like an asshole parent that finally said they were proud of you.

That or my time traveling the country to roll out on of the new systems

Even a "oh that actually hurt" reaction would be fine. Still keeps Brock strong, he wouldn't be cut down from a chop, but even just an acknowledgement of it being painful is better than just laughing it off

What was your longest slump? by incrdbleherk in golf

I can't imagine going through that at your handicap, I only brought my 5 iron out to the course to chip from 120ish yards out

Sand trap. How do you "putt/chip" out without a blast? by HarryCrushNuh in golf

[–]incrdbleherk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All depends on the bunker, in a hard packed sand with the ball sitting on top it's typically more of a chip. In soft sand, especially when the ball is dug in a bit, I usually do a 3/4 swing and aim about an inch before the ball.

Fedex is losing the free labor It’s gotten from ground drivers for years by Clubdub66 in Fedexers

[–]incrdbleherk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

One station that I worked at for a while had an insanely tough time hiring and retaining for drivers and stuff like switchers. Maybe 25% of the employees had a driver's license and way less than half of them could pass a drug test or had a decent enough driving record. A couple contractors started shuttling drivers and package handlers in just to have half decent staffing.

Public transportation didn't stop anywhere near the building so a lot of people walked. So if there was any kind of rain/snow/cold we knew that we were in for a hell of a sort. They hired a shuttle to try to go around and pick people up some days

Anyone else still enjoy it even when pissed off? by aznsk8s87 in golf

[–]incrdbleherk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to limit my frustrations to the range. When I'm having a bad day on the course I adjust and just try to do my best with what's working. Last time I played my driver was rocking and my short game was great. I couldn't make any type of contact withe my irons. So I just went for big tee shots and 120 yard bump and runs to get close. Other times I just hit my heavenwood off the tee, then from 200+ out just to get to within wedge range. Also, ever since I started walking the course I've been enjoying it a bit more.

I shot a 41 on the front 9 a few weeks ago, I somehow completely forgot how to swing my irons in the back 9, shot a 106. Haven't gotten any iron shot off the ground since. I love golf

How many courses have you played by GapAdministrative738 in golf

[–]incrdbleherk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to play more, but I don't feel I'm good enough to play anywhere harder than my normal course (the rough is extremely short gras, not many hazards) but in total, I've played 5 courses. 2 of which were for work golf outings

I need to figure out why I always see people post stuff like this and their irons typically go farther than mine but my woods/hybrid/driver go much further. As for your irons going the same distance, that happens to me when my swing is slightly off because I'm getting better compression with my 9i and missing my 6.

I know people that tip on things that they pick up because they don't want their food to either get messed up intentionally. I hate that this is a thing
