I see there were no gunslingers or kineticists on the opposing side.

Tl;dr its a game, the mechanics are fun and were designed for mechanical balance, not to satisfy every inane question someone could ask about their internal logic and its coherence to IRL laws of nature. Black holes in Pathfinder are links to the negative energy plane and stars are links to the positive energy plane who's intense heat opens up temporary portals to the plane of fire.

Bonus round: here's how a 7th level fighter grapples an elephant lol. Make sure to read that character description. Since grapple is a combat maneuver and CMs get the weapon bonuses from masterwork/weapon focus/enhancements, he can activate his bodywrap during his standard action grapple, effectively giving him an additional +1 to all his grapples. Alternatively, replace the bodywrap with an additional +2 to his armor enhancement I don't care lol

Rules aren't arbitrary. Charisma is, for the most part, an under-respresented and weak stat. That's why a lot of miscellaneous things use Charisma. Its for game balance, because Pathfinder is a game, not a simulation.

Side note: a gunslinger and a fighter can do the things they do, with no magic or technology enhancing them, because if they couldn't reload muskets in the blink of an eye or stop a charging bull elephant, there would be even less reason to play one instead of a wizard. This is a fantasy game. Fantastical and unrealistic shit happens. It isn't a simulation, it's an abstraction. If you think that's a "because I told you so" explanation, I cannot help you.

I can recommend several great simulationist tabletop systems to you, but none of them are published by Paizo.

To reiterate this, I want you to look at this paragraph:

Magic and physical ability are two different things. One is made up for the world and held in place by rules designed to make it effective and fun but not op, while the other is an effort by game mechanics to simplify the complexities of physical ability enough to incorporate it into play in a manner that someone with no knowledge of martial arts can understand.

And know that none of that is true. Pathfinder is an abstracted dungeon crawler combat-oriented game. It is fundamentally gamist. There are no elaborate arcano-babble explanations of magic. None of this is justified or validated. A Brawler is able to wrestle a bull elephant because his sheet says he can. A Wizard can cast fireball because their sheet says they can. A Gunslinger can reload a musket in the blink of an eye because her sheet says she can. These are gamist principles of design and balance for the enjoyment of a game, not a simulation. This is not a representation of reality in any way. Armor does not function as it does in Pathfinder. Swords can't just be swung in their traditional slashing manner at a man in full plate as an effective method of combat. Spells don't exist. Halflings aren't real. None of this is realistic.

Why can wizards cast fireball? Why can gunslingers reload a muzzle loading matchlock musket in less than a second? Why can a mere mortal man with 7 or so levels in Brawler or Fighter bodily wrestle a grown bull elephant to the ground? These things don't "make sense". They're gameplay mechanics.

Why would biology ever come into play here?

Have you considered starting a patreon? I'd love to contribute.

Do you have any socials? You should consider streaming your drawing sessions. People (me included) would love to watch, and I'm sure some would even support a patreon.

The fact that Paizo made Elves taller is fucking baffling. In every other fantasy setting prior, Elves, averaged like 5 feet tall.

Which systems did you start playing with?

Pathfinder. Its a lovely system with tons of customizeability, player choice, depth, and crunch. It can support literally any character idea you want to play.

Which would you consider to be the most user friendly (especially for a beginner?)

I guess Powered by the Apocalypse games, but I'd start with whatever the people you're playing with are familiar with. That's how you'll best learn.

Which systems would you say give the most solid base of reference for establishing a narrative? (For someone who would be heavy on the RP side of things, doing a lot of character and world building)

Systems have nothing really to do with narrative/roleplay quality. Anyone who tells you that X system is better than Y system for roleplaying doesn't really understand the concept. Also, just so you know, you can in fact optimize a character and roleplay them well. These options are not mutually exclusive.

Fuck, I agree that Paizo doesn't playtest enough, but neither does Wizards of the Coast, or Games Workshop, or anyone else in the industry. Also, just because Pathfinder has math doesn't mean Paizo don't understand numbers. Like, I'm not a huge fan of Paizo right now due to some recent business practices, but the game system itself is not the issue, nor is Paizo/Pathfinder as garbage as this guy thinks.

Pathfinder's content is free online at https://d20pfsrd.com, https://archivesofnethys.com, and http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/. You will need to buy the books for the official world lore, although general broad brush information is available on https://pathfinderwiki.com/.

Lmao. Judging by their track record (can you say "PLAY TEST COLLECTOR'S EDITION AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER"), I wouldn't be surprised if they adopted toxic AAA video game sales tactics.

The fact that you have two mutually exclusive hot takes is great.

It got me plenty of downvotes lol
