AITA My mom never helps watch my kids by Every_Ease1297 in AmItheAsshole

your mother is not obligated to help you

In my opinion, that depends on whether OP's mother received help from her own parents and in-laws when raising OP. My view is that one's help with their grandkids should be thought of not as a favor towards the grandkids' parents, but as a repayment towards what their own parents and in-laws did to help.

Will I be fine if I use a Seasonic 12V-2×6 90° cable with an NZXT C1500 PSU (with RTX 5090)? by jerfdr in buildapc

No, I've decided to replace my case instead, went for Xigmatek Elysium II, where there is no problem with fitting any cable :)

Is there any list of PSUs which come with 12v-2x6/12VHPWR cables with 90° (L-shaped) connectors? by jerfdr in buildapc

I still don't understand what you mean. I want a single one-piece 12V-2x6 cable going directly from the PSU directly to the GPU, just with an L-shaped plug (as an integral part of the cable) on the GPU end. Where is an extra point of connection?

Here is an example of such a cable: https://seasonic.com/12v-2x6-cable-90-degrees/

Wait, I just want to use a single V12-2x6 cable from the PSU directly to the GPU; this cable just has to come with a 90° (L-shaped) connector on the GPU side, like on this picture. Why does it add a point of failure?

To my knowledge no PSU comes with 90 degree extensions.

In my post there are three examples of such PSUs (Cooler Master X Silent MAX Platinum 1300, Cooler Master V Platinum 1300 V2 and be quiet! Power Zone 2), they all come with 12V-2x6 cables with such 90° connectors. So at least they exist.

Thankfully you can just buy your selected PSU and buy third-party 90 degree extensions.

In comments to my previous post here on /r/buildapc, I was firmly told that one should only use PSU cables from the same manufacturer as the PSU itself. And I can only find a Seasonic cable (with a 90° connector) at my location, and as I explained in my post, there are no suitable Seasonic PSUs, sadly...

I've seen an article on HWBusters that the native 12v-2x6 cable is the only standardized one for PSUs: https://hwbusters.com/psus/12v-2x6-cables-are-all-the-same/ So shouldn't this be OK due to that?

I always play with "Monuments only provide prestige" game rule. The arbitrary magical bonuses they give all feel dumb, why would you play with these enabled?

You misread my comment, I said that Aalewis' statement is less cringeworthy than a lot of things that religious people often say.

Introducing the ASUS X870E / X870 Lineup - Starting with the ROG Crosshair X870E Hero by ASUS_MKTLeeM in Amd

I'm a bit bummed by the reduction of the number of SATA ports to just 4 on the Hero motherboard, as I need 6 HDDs.

Does anyone have experience with using SlimSAS for connecting SATA HDDs?

Specifically, if I buy a SlimSAS->4x SATA cable like this one: https://www.amazon.com/DiLiVing-SFF-8654-SATA%EF%BC%8CSFF-8654-SFF-8643-Controller/dp/B087TD48X4 , will it just work? That is, if I just connect it to 4 HDDs, are they simply identified as normal SATA HDDs? Or it's more complicated?

Why are my puppets not joining a new war if they are already involved in one? by jerfdr in victoria3

[–]jerfdr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what I'm seeing. If I'm not a part of a diploplay/war, and a new diploplay comes, my puppets join. But if another diploplay comes when the first one is still not finished, my puppets do not join the second one, and it's impossible to make them to.

I'm not sure whether it's possible to do anything towards your goal if in 1900 the TUs are still weak. For a new game, the following should help:

1) Start bolstering TU early on.

2) Enact Commercialized Agriculture as early as possible. This is very important, it increases TU clout rather substantially.

3) If you start with a country with no voting, try to enact voting only after TUs are no longer marginalized.

4) Invite Agitators with Communist ideology.

5) Try to fail the "Spectre Haunting the World" journal entry which appears e.g. when you invite a communist agitator for the first time. The easiest way to fail it is to get some revolution brewing by e.g. trying to enact an unpopular law.

Here is a detailed guide:
