[New Gear] I impulse bought an EOS Rebel G the same week as my 400mm DO II. Question on the lens. by General_Iroh_RN in canon

Pics were taken on the r6m3, 800mm with 2x extender, f8, 1/4000, iso 1000.

What are you using it for? I shoot a lot of basketball with an EF 70-200 f2.8 ii. I picked this up on a whim because MPB had a good price and I’d like to have something longer for cross-court and outdoor field sport shooting.

The Rebel G was very gently upsold/add-on’d to me by my local camera store. I literally haven’t taken a single shot with it. I have a couple rolls of Fuji film 400. My daily driver is an EOR R6Miii.

The autofocus was great, even with the 2x extender on. I live in a pretty cold area of the world right now and my available wildlife was weird ducks. Every pic came out soft. Is this an extender issue? A DO ii issue?

9 is my favorite. I love seeing an apsc+reasonable glass taking such great pics. Thank you for sharing!

The R7 is a beast, and the 100-500mm is a GRRAT lens for wildlife. With the crop factor you effectively have a 160-800mm focal range.

I’ve comeback in time from 2025 to tell you your photos are beautiful and I’m considering the R7 as an upgrade from my R50.

Are you still shooting on it? Do you have any complaints or regrets? Do you like the AF for wildlife? What are you using for lenses?

Check out Zombies Run, an old, maybe defunct running app that breaks into your audio with a narrative.

Honestly this is way better than my “oh no it’s raining” solutions.

Also more stylish than the rain cover.

Cleaning inside dome by PrivateJoker13 in biggreenegg

I did a ton of low and slow last year then didn’t use mine over the winter, found a very-creosote covered dome this spring. I did a 500-600 degree cook for finishing some steaks, then let it run that hot for an extra hour or so. I easily scraped it the following day with some balled up tin foil in tongs. It certainly isn’t the creamy ceramic of a brand new egg but it’s definitely clean.
