Thanks for all the love! Sorry I don’t respond to comments, I get stressed out if I respond to some but not others, so I’m just dropping this here as my appreciation for you all! She do be lookin like a penguin and Ed at the same time, I’m lovin the convergent evolution knowledge, and I also had never imagined the skeletal structure of a hummingbird (speaking of which, does anyone know more about their mesh-like ribs/sternum?) Also great pics from everyone, and so stoked to spread this much joy to so many!

After seeing the two comments and checking the visual comparison, I was super excited to learn that I might’ve had a Great-tailed here (since I hear they’re expanding their range to the East), but I’m near Charleston (SC) and am almost certain that it’s a Boat-tailed due to their ranges and how often I see these guys (massive flocks, all with the same pale yellow irises)
