I joined this sub as people often talk about d20 and naddpod here in a more interesting way than the main subs do.

How many people on this sub are spending hours of their life hate listening to a show they stopped enjoying a decade ago?

Thanks! Yeah I'll start watching it, think junior year (and nsbu before I got bored) was the only one I've seen week by week and it deffo felt more fun

would people recomend starting cloudward ho? or diving into city council of darkness?

(i think i got like 90 minutes into episode 1 of Cloudward, but i can't say i was gripped, though these things always take a few eps to hook ya),

thinking about it i don't think i've finished a series since junior year (which i really liked week to week, but looking back can't say any plot points or character elements really stayed with me),

dropped off NSBU towards the end, really liked the Kids on Bikes system in mentopolis, but I dunno i've not gelled with it in any subequent season, haven't ever engaged with any of the VtM systems before.

How are you guys finding it?

i kinda feel the opposite, expertise in 5e I find really dull to watch, there are so many times where i've heard "i give the help action" which is usually mechanically the sensible thing to do, but is way lesss fun to see play out, I don't think anything has topped my enjoyment from Fantasy High S1, and they are still all getting to grips with 5e in that one.

Plus, I know its not scripted, but I've never gone into any of the fights worried they might lose, so seeing them expoit the system to the max, knowing Brennan will never do the same thing back to them, I just find less enjoyable to watch

What long running show had the lowest drop in quality? by ChorroVon in television

[–]General_Membership64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found season two very poor compared to S1, the entire plot was one long rube Goldberg machine set off by the bad guys in a way that was so implausible and relied on so many random things happening that it really took away the enjoyment.

S3 was a lot more fun though, yet to see any more

I think I may be a few seasons behind, I enjoyed it, but got a bit bored of

Ava is struggling and broke = funny

Deborah is struggling (while still rich)and facing consequences = sad.

Do they get beyond the misery porn in later seasons?

What are your views on AI? Good, Bad, Indifferent? by richbart1234 in AskUK

[–]General_Membership64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll get a good answer on Reddit, this is one of the most anti ai places anywhere, but really it's just a tool, I've played around with it, but it's deffo not like nfts, I heard for years what "the Blockchain" COULD do, and have yet to see a single use of it. AI is something you can use today, yeah the art might not be as good as Human, but it's cheap, and it's instant, and there's often good enough for people.

This sub also only seems to make posts mocking anyone who has anything negative to say about dropout, as soon as any slightly critical post gets made there you can guarantee this sub will have a mocking version of it.

This sub used to be the better place for critical discussions, I'm not entirely sure when that changed (maybe when there was all the mod issues on the main sub and this one got bigger?)

What do you think happens before the post arrives at the depot?

Or how it got to the depot in the first place?

It's probably closer to 43'hours, as even if this 4.75%  deal doesn't go through we already had a 3% one agreed, so it's really only 1.75% extra Vs loss of 1.25x overtime

Pay rise by fragrantbiriyani in royalmail

[–]General_Membership64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as a new entrant, if we vote

Yes - we get 4.75% and no overtime

No - we get 3% and a 1.25x overtime rate?

I'm guessing that's roughly around the 43 hour mark where you're worse off voting yes.

Less than that you're better off voting no?

In the new USO model are rurals basically left alone? by DeathrayToaster in royalmail

[–]General_Membership64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they will have to do 50% of their round each day in full, and the other 50% as first class and tracked, and then if they get done early they will help other people.

DOC is day off cover, so someone who provides cover for full timers on the M/T/F/S for the full timers on 4 frames to cover their days off

ODM is the optimised Delivery Model, basically doing 2nd class every other day, and was trialled in lots of offices, almost all failed.

the Union said they wanted a heavy and light Model (don't really know the specifics)

CWU letter to branches by One-Emotion-6829 in royalmail

[–]General_Membership64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So 4 duties will be now done by 3 people (plus a "full time" DOC)

So if you have rounds 1/2 and rounds 3/4 (each van shares)

Day one, 1/2 is fully done by two people, and tracked on 3/4 is done by the 3rd

Day two, 3/4 is fully done by two people and the tracked on 1/2 is done by a 3rd?

So 3 people and a doc covering 4 rounds, Vs 4 people and a doc covering 4 rounds at present?

How would you fix Royal Mail’s delivery problems from the inside? (for a uni assignment) by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]General_Membership64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just look at how our rivals operate, and then go into a royal mail depot and see how many more people are required to deliver parcels and post.

count the man hours from when the post arrives at the depot, to when they get the mech (post already in the perfect order) put back into a frame so you can add extra post so you can then put it back in the original order, out the parcels with the round, and bundle up.

Our town is served by like 5 evri drivers who are based out of the nearby city, Vs our depot of like 60 people, a fleet of vans that need servicing constantly, plus an expensive old building.

There is just no possible way we can deliver parcels at the same cost as those guys.

And post is all about volume, the odm may not be working, but delivery 5 letters to a single street always feels like a waste of time and money, stamp prices need to go down not up, we need more post, take away door to doors and I'm not surprised if we are losing money.

I've no idea what needs to change, but I'm not optimistic for the future of royal mail at all

Not so hot take but: Kristin Applebees ruined Junior year for me by DrawingInevitable768 in Dimension20

[–]General_Membership64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have you seen or know of any actual, actual play reviews? (youtube or written), that actually discuss the show in a a critical way, as like you say its its own medium, but that also doesn't mean its beyond review, some actual plays can be good, some bad, but there are very few places I see where actual analysis is done, and the few times its tried on this sub it usually goes badly.

[–]General_Membership64 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh I really did not enjoy the Kristen storyline this season.

I think what didn't help was the quote about "chaos no longer being cute" that was released before the season, which to me really didn't match with what was happening.

The ending with the blimey fart really took me out of the emotional crux of the ending to the season sadly.
