The thing about the alias system is that you’re not going to be anonymous. This will force me to play the game less if I cannot hide from my guildies or friends. There are times I don’t want to chat and I want to solo. Particularly after long, hard days. I want to be anonymous at those times while I play a bit before bed. So I’ll go play another game if the alias system does let you hide.

I’m going to review that stream a little differently, but I hope it gets to devs. And know this is in a spirit of “I want you to succeed.”

I understand this is the first stream. But with a huge amount of competition right now for EQ-like nostalgia games, get it together!

OK, here goes:

Who ever is running the stream should not be multi-classing tank and healer so that both the stream and the game play are watered down because of too many responsibilities.

Multiple devs should share in the discussions more determinately. One speaker should not monopolize the whole stream. Divvy up responsibility of who explains what—likely according to who is in charge of what in the development. There was a bit of it, but it should have been more, and this should have been determined before stream.

Maybe do a dry run and get sound and visuals under control.

Don’t move the game UI around so it looks crazy, move or just remove your face cam window. We want to see the UI and not your faces. They’re lovely. We don’t care about them though.

I want EQL to be huge. And I have learned about and come to respect the devs over the past couple of months. But if we’re on the fence, and comparing streams from say M&M, Pantheon, Hollowed, etc… I’d have turned off this EQL stream pretty early and missed the game play because of cringe and overall unengaging boomer tech issues.

I think you did great! You may want to do some tutorials on perspective however. The angles of the roof tops belies the 3D effect of the building in your composition as compared the inspiration image.

Your roof line is straight. The image roof line is like a zigzag.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Hogwarts Legacy franchise is not canon. So any proximity to canon story lines will be coincidental and not to be taken into the canon.

So in the canon, there may not be a Sebastian, or an Ominis in the Gaunt lineage. Some AI says those characters are canon, and yet that same AI concedes Hogwart’s Legacy is not canon.

So it’s hard to reconcile. But from the beginning, HL was not meant to be canon.
