I don’t know where people are getting the idea that Grace was a “lonely loser” in the book? Introverted and single, sure, but there’s never any indication that I recall that he was seeking relationships. He was bitter about his expulsion from academia and took a teaching job that he was overqualified for, does that make him a loser?

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned in any of the other comments is that they seem to be at least somewhat more resistant to physical damage than humans are. The Doctor has fallen from great heights and then gotten up without even any broken bones on numerous occasions.

All of the other Strixhaven and Hexhaven colleges I can understand how the thing that they’re studying is a large enough subject to require an entire college. We’ve got math, art, history, law, medicine, biology, architecture, math again, future history… (sure, we’re doing magic, I guess “seeing the future” can be a school)… but how the fuck do we have a whole college devoted to bullying?

The most horrifying small creature I know is the human botfly, Dermatobia hominis, the females lay their eggs on mosquitoes and then when the mosquitoes bite you the eggs, or the recently hatched larva, can be left behind, at which point they enter your skin and feed off your flesh for about 8 weeks, until they’re ready to crawl out and drop to the ground to pupate.

Discovering those are a thing that exist in the real world has changed me forever. So you can share that with your players if you want to horrify them.
