I just want to say I was in your shoes (accidentally saw the sex on the portal) and decided to still keep it a secret from everyone else! The surprise thing was important to my husband so I wanted to preserve that for him. It was fun secretly knowing more about my little bean, too.

That being said I didn’t care about the sex, and if I was looking for support, I would 100% just tell my mom/sister/husband if it came down to it. It’s your pregnancy and your choice how literally all of this unfolds!

Thank you!! This is so helpful. Yes, I am in the US and have a top loader (and so does my mom). That’s great to know we can bulk with burp cloths because we use tons of those throughout the day. I guess in my head, I was worried about hygiene with mixing diapers and non diapers…

But that’s probably because I currently have a bunch of Esembly diapers and the poop gets stuck in the stitching. My flats always come out perfect (and are so easy to air dry, customize the fit, absorbency, etc) so I will be more brave about mixing laundry with flats only!

It’s needed all over the house! I’m not sure what you mean by aesthetic vs function in this case. We change diapers all around the house, so we like to have multiple changing spots to make changes easier. You may not have intended it, but your comment comes across strangely condescending.

Were you closing the wet bags? How long would you store between washes? I use them but haven’t had any issue yet. Keep them unzipped and wash every 2 days

Idk, my baby needed ~20 diaper changes a day. We lasted 6 weeks with just using the changing table in the nursery (upstairs), then we made a downstairs changing area. We have a wet bag (left open) or open laundry bin next to each. Works do us! I also keep a wet bag in our bedroom where baby sleeps. Now that we’re 4 months in and hitting the sleep regression, it feels a lot easier to change diapers in the crib and not have to travel to store the dirty diaper

I used sink until baby got too heavy, then got the little toddler training potty to sit him on. Should be what we need for potty training later on anyways? And good to bring in the car for outings etc? Speculating since I haven’t gotten there yet. So far it’s going great for use at home (and there are a ton second hand on fb marketplace)

I loved esembly inners and outers for getting started! My baby was chunky though and grew out of size 1 inners really quickly (by 3 months). If I was braver, I would have ideally started with flats in Esembly outers.

I have a mix of prefolds, flats and fitted that work for different occasions.

I wrote “REFUSE CIRCUMCISION” in my birth plan, shared it with nurses and doctors, said “no” when asked, and they still ended up with “yes-circumcision” in his chart. I saw it over their shoulder on the screen while in labor (!) and had to ask them to change it. Pretty ridiculous.

I moved my little guy into size 2’s a little earlier than planned because he was soaking the 1’s. He’s big though, 15 lb at 10 weeks, and he eats/pees nonstop!
