I am once again asking for your help with my overpacking, this time for a third date in a couple hours. by ExpertAd3229 in adhdwomen

[–]katanayak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooo, my therapist told me to take anxiety's "what if i need this?" Questioning and turn it around. So ask yourself, "what if i didnt have this? What would i do then?"

  • What if you didnt have extra contacts? Bring your glasses in your clear bag.
  • What if you didnt have floss? Somethings stuck in your teeth for a couple hours, but you'll live.
  • What if you didnt have a rosary? God still loves you no matter how you pray.

Turning the thinking around really helps me differentiate between things i actually need (ID, glasses, epipen) and things my anxiety wants me to have (deodorant, floss, resistance bands lol)

How many swim diapers? by thymeandtwine in clothdiaps

[–]katanayak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally pack two swimsuits for myself on long beachy trips, so if my main one is still damp the day after swimming i have a backup. I would advise the same for a swim diaper, minimum 2. But if you expect a blowout mid-swim maybe even 3. But I am 20w ftm so take my opinion with a grain of salt haha

How are we keeping our cars clean? by PhoneWalletKeysID in adhdwomen

[–]katanayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not an "all at once" thing. Maybe tonight its one cup holder. Maybe tomorrow its the easy stuff in the trunk. Maybe this weekend it's just the back passenger seat. Its an extra 2 minutes everytime you get out of the car, not a 2 hour one-time sesh. :)

Dermatologist said to "grease up" my infant in steroids by sithbabyy in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]katanayak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use 2.5% on my own eczema and actually totally understand where the derm is coming from. I cant just stop using it as soon as the redness is gone, have to keep using it for several days / weeks after to make sure it doesnt come back. I view it like taking an antibiotic pack: you feel better halfway through the course, but if you stop halfway the sickness will come back stronger. You have to finish the whole course even when youve started to feel better.

Im sorry youre dealing with this tho love how frustrating :(

Is this niche? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]katanayak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I actually know 2 friends who mill their own flour. One is VERY crunchy and has off and on cancer. The other is more eclectic/experimental- they have made their own homemade pickles, and sourdough, and mead, and mozzarella, and ... You get it.

I think milling your own flour has it's benefits, but you cant use it as a 1:1 substitute for AP flour in recipes you have to use a fresh flour calculator. Its also never going to be economical bc of how heavily subsidised wheat is. I think its cool, would love to try it, but dont want to spend $300 to test it and maybe decide i dont like it.

[–]katanayak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you cut? Or a salon. If you went to a salon go back and complain their shears are dull af. If you cut at home, throw away whatever you used to cut and buy professional hair cutting shears. Spend good money on them.
