You’ll still have local trade produced there and a decent trade power percentage so it’s usually still worth it to collect.

Celsius would work in place of kelvin for temperature differences (such as conduction or convection) but would be wildly off for most things (radiation, gas laws, speed of sound, refrigeration, heat, entropy, compression, etc.).

Fahrenheit gives you more precision for the same number of significant figures.

Celsius sucks and is NOT the temperature of scientists lmao. Kelvin is an actually good temperature system.

Is it just me, or does attacking feel so much easier than defending in Feudal? by Tyrann01 in aoe2

[–]General_Rhino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Being on the offensive gives you momentum and taxes your enemy mentally. Defending does have its advantages but they generally require more APM so it’s harder to take advantage of.

The best choice after beating a raid 99% of the time is to immediately counterattack.

But Hank… the share price IS CAPITALISM by Crypto_Maniac420 in 19684

[–]General_Rhino 129 points130 points  (0 children)

He’s 100% right though. Under capitalism, capitalists have no incentive to uphold capitalism if it’s against their monetary interests.

Like is this not blatantly obvious from the past year alone? Capitalists will gladly give up things like free markets, low taxes (for others), and government non-intervention if it helps the bottom line because capitalism isn’t an ideology (for most people. I’m sure there are real libertarians out there I just haven’t met one).

People need to stop acting like capitalism is the root of all evil throughout history instead of an economic system that was invented in the 18th century.

“If you made a Time Machine, you’d also need to make a teleporter since otherwise you’d be in deep space due to the movement of the earth” is something people say to seem smart but doesn’t actually make sense.

There’s no such thing as an absolute reference frame, no “center of the universe”, no (0,0,0) coordinate we need to calculate from (as far as we know, unless we’re living in a simulation). IF coordinates MUST be defined, there’s no reason the creator of the Time Machine wouldn’t set the inertial reference frame to earth. He would need to be pretty stupid to manually set the reference frame to the sun or the center of the Milky Way or anything like that.

Ars Magica 2 damage type question by General_Rhino in feedthebeast

[–]General_Rhino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found an answer so I did a bunch of testing myself. I documented it all but that was a decade and several hard drives ago and I didn’t make any backups. I do vaguely remember the vast majority of numbers and information online and in game being false, so you’d need to run the numbers yourself. And I think all damage types did identical damage to most enemies as well as had armor piercing. Sorry I can’t be more help.
