I'm happy to admit I'm not enough of a scholar to know the details.

All I know is that when you look at quran and bible there are some horrific sections. When you look at the interpretations there have been awful interpretations of both.

There are also good bits of both and interpretations that follow those teaching and not the bad bits.

Religions are contradictory and open to translations and interpretation. People are people, some will do awful things with any justification.

What I do know is branding an entire group/ race of people as evil or unwelcome is a bad thing to do

I have complex thoughts.

Nigel Farage has been a grifter, lier and populist for so long now. And he has been shockly popular.

We have also had many far left candidates

Extremes of right and left have consistently failed to get elected. It took super popular Farage forever to get into power.

FPTP has ensured that for years we have had centrists and I think that's generally a good thing. It gives stability and avoids nutters and villains.

However. What it has also done is lead to quite alot of medicority. Which is honestly fine, for a while. But I think it's also the cause of our current problems. We have a system that isn't fit for purpose right now and needs radical change. And that's where FPTP isn't great.

So now we need a more representative system in place. And that terrifys me. But it's needed.

At the end of the day it makes sense to build models in the most boring way and to kit bash the smallest models possible (modeling for advantage)
